Subject: Any demand for Poser5 stuff?

Lyrra ( ) posted Tue, 22 April 2003 at 2:46 AM · edited Fri, 25 October 2024 at 2:40 AM

Is there any demand in the MP for Poser 5 specific products? Is anyone interested in: Poser5 based character packs, faces, morphs, Poser5 Materials (especially building surfaces) ? And if you are ...what do you want to see? Lyrra PS if nobody wants poser5 stuff ...I'll just go make MilKid stuff instead .... grin

Personally, I would much rather see some SciFi/fantasy type clothing for the MilKids then P5 specific things. I'm tired of all the cute little skirts, dresses, etc for the MilKids.

I agree Shadowblade more fantasy/scifi for the mil kids...As far as Poser 5 I would imagine if you look through the market and see what is offered. there are people that cant make a heavy investment in Mike, Vicki and the gang and would probably appreciate it.

When I'm scanning the MP and see something that's P5-only, I don't even bother to look at it, no matter how good the product thumbnail looks. I do have p5 installed, but use p4/pp mostly.

The only P5 specific things I get are materials. And I prefer special effect or clothing texture ones.

I buy Poser 5 stuff, but I tend to think I'm in the minority. There seems to be a great need for more things for the MilKids...they have been really neglected and I think both the male and female figures would be popular choices for additional clothes. Not just fantasy/science fiction, but real life stuff too (but didn't we all know I'd say that).

Sprinter has lots of modern fashions for Milkids. Boundless and Goldentassle have done wonderful textures for them. I love Goldentassle's textures, especially her Jessica's Closet. At this time I'm not working on current fashion images just straight fantasy.

MilBoys please-- Mil girls can wear anything you make for them but the other way around doesn't seem to work somehow. Love to see sci-fi uniforms and Fantasy pages and squires. Emily

Yes..P5 stuff is needed...there is actually very little P5 specific items... Take a look at Farrah by Quarker...its fabulous.. Who are the Milkids ???

There is a shortage of P5 Mats. Building materials is certainly one area along with cloth, bark, carpeting, etc. There are a few "mixed" things, but I'd like to see them by type. I've been thinking of buying Farrah Dave-So. She is one of the best P5 characters I've seen so far :) There are also some nice clothing pieces that have been done for P5 by Hmann.

Sorry, I've never worked with the milkids so I didn't realize there was a lot of clothing for them. I know Niles posts pleas regualarly for things for the boys that strike me as real life. If all you are doing is fantasy, that lets me out for Poser 5 or the milkids. Apologies for intruding on the thread.

You know....I've been one of P5's biggest critics, but I do use it and I would like to see more P5 stuff. I think dialyn probably would too.....and not just fantasy stuff either, but things for the characters that come with it. I think I've heard this said somewhere before, but if Vicky and Mike had as little in the way of characters, and mats as Judy and Don do, they would also look like crap! In fact, Judy is a much better looking character than V2 ever was (my god did I really say that!!). Some of the clothes that came with P5 for these characters are not half bad compared to what doesn't come with the Millennium characters. Serge Marck has created some great stuff for P5 characters. So probably the biggest need (besides the materials that I've already mentioned) are characters and mat poses. And of course,we can always use more practical clothing! :) Anyway I hope you do create more P5 stuff Lyrra. I will certainly support it :)

Animated materials -- looping video clips in .avi format which can be applied as animated textures, transparencies, or bump maps. Stuff like fire, smoke, rain, falling snow.

A cool set of boots for Don. Scifi preferably, but it doesn't have to be too complex - something simpler like the RDNA Bolero Boots would work fine. :) Thanks! --Donnie
