There is a whole bunch of postes I've already done about this topic. Search for grouping for posts by me.Ya make sure your computer is running right. I just fixed today a machine I had built years ago. I was visiting. I couldn't understand why there computer was so slow. I did the Ad Aware scan on it and found 31 processes running in the background that they where unaware off. I removed them and the computer went back to it's former faster speed. Keep your puter clean. It will run just so much better. Adaware is free just do a search on google for the link. It's by Lavasoft. Works well
Pete's tip of da day: This has nothing to do with rendering time but it has to do with smooth scene build times. Set up your scene the way you want placing a few objects. When you have them to you liking put them on a hidden layer. Keep adding more stuff and keep draging them to a hidden layers when they're perfect and stop trying to display everything all at once. Vue will sing. It works really well and allows you to build impossibly complex scenes up, 10 of thousands of objects are possible this way. When you render keep 99% of it on a hidden layer and it render faster too cause it will be able to update that basically blank scene in a split second if you're rendering to the screen. If you're just rendering for posting here perposes. ie:jpg's don't kill yourself rendering to extreme high render qualities. It's counter productive. Your going to loose most of that extra render time effect when you convert it to jpg. Sad but it's true.
