Subject: Sigh!

A few nights ago I read in horror that someone had lost his whole "My Objects" folder and thought.."Oh, never let it happen to me!" Of cousre, today it did....after I had spent 8 hours working on a project with 48 objects..resizing them, resaving them and naming each little part. Boring and tedious work. Now it is all lost...but there is a bright spot. I did a search for "modified files" on today's date and found the .tmp file of the perviously saved folder (easy to find since it was so big). When I found it I removed the corrupt "My Objects" file from the "Presets" folder and copied in the tmp file and renamed it "My Objects.obp". It took 2 tries, but I have my old folder back, so all I really lost was 8 hours of work. Just wanted you to know it can be done sometimes. Diane

I forgot about that - since I switched to XP I haven't had to use that trick to recover files - yet. Thanks for the reminder.

Always make backups. There's not always a tmp to save you you know.
