Subject: Help! Welding bodyparts new figure after boning/grouping?

Can somebody help me? I modeled a new character from scratch. I boned and grouped and am able to pose her now, but the bodyparts are not welded! How can I get them welded again without losing my groups???

It could just be that you do not have bending selected for a body part. Select the body part and go to ObjectProperties to turn bending back on. If its the mesh itself then a quick run through UVMapper will cure it. Look for EditToolsWeld Vertices. (UvMapper Pro is similar but menus are rearranged). Lastly but less likely is that the weld lines are missing from the CR2 file. Open in a text editor and search for "weld". If they are not there then holler and we'll take it from there.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick respond PhilC! I didn't want to start mapping before I'd got this problem fixed, but perhaps I can go on now! I'll look at it right away! Sil

Thanks again PhilC! With UVMapper I could weld the bodypart-seems and I found out that I had to "weld group" in the group-editor to make the rest of the body smooth. :)
