I've got my suspicions about this one. James Cameron isnt directing it, so Im curious if this one is going to have the same feel to it. Im not expecting much, but Im hoping:)

:) I've been eyeballing those cyborg things for awhile...but alas, my pocketbook is steering me away.

Classic Classic Classic.... whatever it takes to make T3...You can't replace Arnold for this role :) Yes, probably should be time for him to hit the recliner.. Did you guys visit the "official" site and check out all that flash stuff ???

I think this one's a dud. The T1000 was the best idea. Polymemetic alloy. Now they just do some sexy tough chic which is old news and so 80s. It looks like she does the alloy thing too but is also a robot. I am so sick of man killing tough chics that I want to scream. What's so scary about that? And Arnie is like 60 as wolf says. He doesn't even look bulky anymore. They're gonna have to get a lot of real short actors. That's probably why they used a girl cause she's actually smaller than he is. I'm surprised they didn't toss in ninjas. Also Hamilton isn't in it. Also the film isn't rated yet. That's always a bad sign. They have 2 choices R-rated or PG. PG gaurentees a sucky movie.

nope saw the trailor,my vote is Don't Bother

sandoppe ( ) posted Thu, 24 April 2003 at 7:24 PM

Personally, I don't see much difference between "man killing tough chics" and "man killing tough dudes".....both are a bit over-rated. But as an "old chci", I must say, I do get sort of a kick out of seeing some babe kick some big guys butt!! When I was a kid, you would never have seen something like that! Women were still wearing high heels in the kitchen and cooking supper for Beaver Cleaver! I'll probably get the movie though....I have all the rest of the Terminator series...might as well get them all! Dave-So, I think us "old foggies" just enjoy watching anyone who can "leap in the air and go to beat hell"....even if it is just "special effects" :)

Dave-So ( ) posted Thu, 24 April 2003 at 8:26 PM

could be, sandoppe :) I like em for the action, the ideas...I love SciFi and cyborgs...the special effects, the explosions... Usually when the critics vote thumbs down, I'm there, and loving it :) I am a Terminator fan, so unless this is really dogshit, I'll enjoy it...the trailer looks pretty exciting to me... Now has anyone modeled those metal dudes witht the red eyes ???

Yes, someone has, James Murphy. Actually, his was originally in 3DS format, but more than one artist has adapted his mesh to Poser format. The most ambitious has been done by Questor. He went so far as to make the hydraulic pistons extrude and retract. Unfortunately, I can't remember his web site URL at the moment. Anyone want to help out these guys? Sincerely, Bill

Some interesting graphics, but not as well done as some of the other movies out there. That's going to kill it for me. Cheap out on the CG and I'll spend my time talking to the lady who sells the popcorn.

Little_Dragon ( ) posted Thu, 24 April 2003 at 10:42 PM

Questor's CG Alcove

I don't recommend downloading and trying Questor's T-800 figure unless you have very powerful hardware. It's worse than Victoria 3, performance-wise. It can also be a bit tempermental in Pro Pack and P5.

On the other hand, I actually created an animation with it on a Pentium 3-800, so what do I know?

LD, you could make V4 sing on a 386 faster than any of us! Great show!

An interesting choice in Mostow as director for T3. He's known for avoiding CGI at all costs. Breakdown had no CGI at all, and U-571 had little or none. I'm curious, but also skeptical. The trailes I've seen so far have done nothing for me. And yeah, Linda Hamilton's not in this one. Her character's dead in the film. That's why you see them in the cemetary in parts of the trailer.

Read the early script, it sucked, I'll rent it when the DVD comes out.
