THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Xporting Bryce 5 object to poser

it's been awhile since the last use of bryce (i last used the version 1, i think). felt like coming back home, but i ran into problems with my first job-to-do.
i'm supposed to create a object (3d-film screen), export it to poser, add some chars and stuff and export the whole weirdoness as flash movie.
the problem is that how can i export object made from couple of cylinders and cubes out of bryce? appears that only terrains and stuff can be exported as .3ds or wavefront?
is there a way to by-pass this?

i'd hate to buy 3dmax just for random use as this one:)

no dear miika, its not possible to export meatballs from bryce, as it renders itself. maybe you/i should read some posts before going asking?:) can anyone recommend me an easy-to-use, free/shareware/trial program that is easy to use for a small object-creating) all i need from the program that it would understand cubes and cylinders and booleans like in bryce. all recommends are welcome, miika

Anim8or is pretty decent. It made by a guy who worked on 3DS programming. There's a few others, search the forum unless someone lists them here. I beleive Amapi (sp?) is free too and Wings3D http://www.anim8or.com

was TrueSpace3 only free with the CD-Roms from 3D World and Computer Arts Magazines, or is it available for free elsewhere? It has true boolean operations.

yeah, Truespace was from either Computer Arts, or 3d World, a coupla months back. Have it, installed it, did one pic, and haven't touched it since (but should..;). You could probably get back issues from their web site. Also, consider Wings 3d, over in the Modelling Forum, where you can get Amapi, and Anim8tor.

There's a complete 3DToolkit on the CD of 3DWorld issue 38. It's a low-cost 3d-app special. You might find some usefull information and/or software it the mag.
