Anyone want some cat poses? And my cat textures for the p4 Cat? Okay you've got to answer 3 questions correctly. First oneto do so gets the cat poses shown here and a copy of my cat textures (whether or not I ever make the textures available for sale). These are for the Poser 4 cat ***NOT*** the new cat Anton is developing. (Though I fully intend to do poses and textures for that too.) The questions: 1) How many cats are in my clowder? 2) Cats are obligate carnivores because their bodies can not synthesize what amino acid? 3) What is the only species of feline that does NOT have retractible claws? Good luck!

Great poses, they're really lifelike! And here's an interesting tidbit regarding cheetah's claws, that I was originally told about by a friend from South Africa.

"The claws on the cheetah are slightly different from those of the tiger (or other cats) and are often described as being non-retractable. This is actually incorrect.

All the usual ligaments found in other cats are present in the cheetah, however this cat has no protective sheaths of skin covering the claws so that they are clearly visible at all times, even when in a relaxed position.

The shape of the claws is also different; they are muchshorter and straighter in the cheetah (an exception to this is the dew claw which grows long, curled and sharp to aid in hunting)."

Cheetahs are my favorite of the big cats, they're very charismatic. :)

I am also interested in the poses and textures...sure hope you release both. They make that cat almost human....oh, sorry...almost a real cat!

I am just curious as a cat as to how many cats were the inspiration for the great textures. :) Sure would be funny if there were no cats.

The correct answers are 1) Nine - Spook, Cody, Jon-Tom, Killian, Bear, Nicky, Socrates, Xerxes and Mimi. Pix of Mimi are the basis of the texture but all of them contributed to the poses. ;-) 2) Taurine 3) Cheetah - though as pointed out above this may not be technically correct. Since I didn't say you couldn't guess twice, Sandoppe is the winner but I'm also going to give LaurieA a copy of the poses since she got it right on her first guess. IM me with your e-mail addresses and I'll tell you were to download your prizes. This was fun. I may do it again. :-)

don't use the cat much, but with these poses and texture, I migt have to. They're GRRReat!!

And here's another! These were both rendered in Poser 5, and have no post work. They work very well IMO! Any suggestions or observations are appreciated.

I have an outdoor/in the shop kitty named B.S. Sundae (short for Butterscotch Sundae) that looks a lot like the orange and white one. That's why I gave him the upper hand in the fight scene :) These really do work great. I know you'll enjoy them dialyn :)
