What features are you looking for? Some of the export styles are not implemented. If you want to have flowing clothe (not in PPP), create hair (not in PPP), make "bones", compressed files, etc. then that is covered. Flash works 2 (well as well as anything vectorized can work... muddilly (hey, new word!?)). The problem is usually not enough mem, harddrive (for paging), need defrag and [was/may still be] Nvideo cards. I created a new machine, P4 2.8 with 1gig mem and tons of harddrive and pretty much dedicated it to all my 3d (ie old machine has office products, banking etc - new machine is carrera, canoma, bryce, poser, autocad, etc.) with a dual monitor sys which is really great with the animation/hierarchy/etc being in 2nd monitor while working close up with my P5. So far, have found that when I am doing large animation renders (700 frames and above in Production Rendering) that I need to make sure my harddisk is well defragged (using XPpro-AdminTool-ComputerManagement) and have my page mem set to min 4096 to max 4096. Have heard many complain, and when I first tried to run P5 on my old xppro with all the cutzy operating xppro desktop stuff on.... I 2 complained. Turned of cute stuff and immediately found speed - set my preference to NOT load P5 character and found even more speed. Dont care for their characters [P5] and have not had any problems running my PPP characters, clothes, poses, etc. but what really tricks me out is the material room as I have found that I can merge multiple textures like my other 3d apps allow me to do. So there is my 2Cents. Hope it helps. Oh yeah, P5 contains characters from PPP and of course, P4 animals people etc. that we have seen since version 1 on up to 4. Is definitely learning curve for the new rooms but all my PPP stuff came over and rendered/animated without much ado.

Great info Cruzan. I like your new word too. "Muddilly". Josh101: All the features of the ProPack are in Poser5 as well as a bunch of new stuff. The learning curve is pretty steep. Some of the new features are fairly complex. To be honest, if these new features weren't complex then they would have fallen short. Make sure and check out www.3-AXIS.com. We have put together a 2 1/2 hour training video for the new features in P5. The response from our customers has been incredible. I think we have a hit! All the best, Joe www.3-AXIS.comTY, LDLD, being an ex-student of the "english degree" (or in other words - lookiing to write the great american novel); I really appreciate the fun of our new "computer language era" and hope to add more bad/worser [teehee; again] words to our vocabulary! ;-) Drives my "proper speaking" husband nutz - so totally worth making up new words!@! You have been the first to note [that I have seen] that if there was not a learning curve to this release - then it would not have been a major upgrade - Bravo! Muddilly yours...
The only things missing from Pro Pack are the hosting plugins (Lightwave, 3DS Max, etc.). Vue d'Esprit owners are having problems using P5's scene files. P5's Walk Designer (up through Service Release 2.1) is almost completely useless. Hopefully, SR3 will successfully address this. I don't have Lightwave, 3DS Max, or Vue d'Esprit, so those first two problems don't apply to me. Other than the Walk Designer, I'm having a blast.

Does anyone know if the features found in Pro Pack for Poser 4 are built into Poser 5? I'm debating the age old question of Poser 4 or Poser 5. I like the extra features found in Pro Pack, but it's unclear whether Creative Labs included those features in P5 or if they intend to someday offer those features in a Pro Pack for P5. Thanks in advance for the help. Josh
