I was just curious if anyone new of how Vue d'Esprit 4's render times compared to Bryce 5 ?

They scream compared to b5, but the terrains in b5 are much nicer and more detailed. Volumetic atmosphere in vue4 is probably 10 times faster than volumetric world in bryce. It's great to have both apps and e-on is making it easy to grab vue now that's for sure. -Scott

Thanks for the info scott. A faster render time sure makes it tempting.

Yes I have found that Vue is much faster to work with than Bryce and a great chunk of the time saved is on test rendering. The interface is another reason for speed with Vue, it really is well designed. It is true about Bryce and the depth and power of its terrain editor compared to Vue.It is such a shame that the future of Bryce is unclear at this time. I really feel for the artists for whom Bryce is their main ap. Vue is worth the money though just for the speed.

You're welcome muddy... It really is great to have both apps if you can afford it. Some people take the cool landscapes from Bryce and export them to Vue for it's great atmospherics. They make a good combo. Scott

Look Muddy, have you thought about MojoWorld, the brains behind it is the guy who wrote Bryce's fractal engine(as far as I know). It could be the next step if you see what I mean.

I took a look at the MojoWorld's galleries and found some neat stuff. However the Vue galleries seem to have much better works by far. Unless you can point me to some better offerings put out by Mojo I doubt I would even consider it at this point. Thanks for the information though.
