Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 11 12:18 am)
I bought Poser 4 at upgrade prices despite the change of ownership... and suspect that most users did. CuriousLabs had no trouble with it and my serial numbers have all worked just fine. In fact, the only graphics company where I've had problems with getting the new serial numbers to "take" is Adobe, and their customer service folks walk my computer through the upgrade installation is since disk-swapping in&out doesn't get out of some weird internal loop. Many companies have sidegrade offers, too... even if they didn't get a penny from your other purchase they want your pennies now. Carolly

That announcement is a bit specific, especially considering that we have not announced any release date for Mimic 2.0 yet. We do plan to release it in May, hopefully sooner than later in the month. And yes, we will have upgrade pricing, we wouldn't dream of releasing it any other way. (and even side-ways pricing, Little Dragon. ;)And, Morphy, with our 30 day guarantee you could Mimic 1 even just the day before and still be guaranteed the pricing options you want. So, no problem there either.
Beat Corel in customer service? Man, if that was our only goal, our sales staff would have a lot more fun at work. ;)

"Damn! I just don't understand companies that insist on releasing incomplete and unfinished programs!" I think its important to make the distinction between companies that advertise features in a program that simply dont work, barely work or arent there at all, and companies that release programs that simply dont include EVERYTHING on your wish list, all for a retail price of $200 or less. Poser5 was a Debacle for sure. but many people are still upset about it lacking features (hardware acceleration etc), that CL NEVER alleged would be in the program anyway.
"Finally, IMHO, Poser 5 was incomplete, unfinished and unfit when it was sent out for sale and shipment to what was a loyal and trusting customer base. That loyalty and trust was, IMHO, betrayed and used. You obviously disagree. Fine. I have no problem with that." No "disagreement" here friend as MAC user I was spared the horror and frustration of poser5 and wont bother with the MAC version if it ever comes out :-) Because I render all my poserpro4 character animations/stills in C4DXL, a REAL 3D program that has particles, cloth simulation, batch rendering, radiosity, hardware acceleration, hair, fur and liquid simulation, hypernurbs modeling open GL explosion effects just to name a few.
