Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 11 12:18 am)
Silvermermaid are we talking about backups as in off line ? Like items you bought and installed and put some were for safe keeping ? A executable file wont change from a read only and neither will a zip. Say i have a drive named " D " i store all my purchase's on. And a sector of the drive fails. That means its toast or no good any more.
The one file everyone should DEFINITELY mark as 'read only' is the main 'poser.RSR', located in the main folder with Runtime and the poser.exe. I discovered this a year ago when I was having problems with Poser crashing. I found out that most long-time poser users all change that .RSR to read only. Apparently, it become easily corrupted if it's left as 'archive'. Changing it certainly solved my problems. mac
Thanks for helping me all of you. Tasquah: it's for backup and also within the Poser 4 directory itself. PeterWahoo: Now that is a good idea, I never thought of that. Maybe I can make some nice PDF's of all the files and place them on CD. That's a great idea thank you :) Maclean: That's a life-saver, I never had these 2 files read-only, so I did tag them read only, anything to be more efficient, hehe :) Anyway, thanks a bunch

I am wondering if storing files and keeping them corrupt free would be best if I tagged them Read-only? Like for Daz and Poser zip, exe files that you want to maintain there integrity do you think Read-only is a good choice to make or it doesn't matter? Thank you :)
