Many, many moons ago, I used the POV on my ATARI !!! It had/has a very powerful parser. The new version is available at http://www.povray.org/ If I remember correctly, there was even an object designer (Breeze.exe) that save created models in POV format. The POV-Ray engine is a pure Raytracer, I think, and can beat many other kinds of render apps. Siegbert P.s There are textures which are assigned in an #include colors parameter. dzarts. Yes, a Mac version is available. The user manual is HUGE. I only wish I still had my Mac. It was tooo expensive to keep up with the Mac hardware development. I have had to downgrade to Pentium III (MMX) BTW. This is NOT an OS flame !!!! I just prefer the Mac, but could no longer afford it. The PIII is good enough for what I need it for. Siegbert

Siegbert: Don't remember that... Here in Brazil, Mac's are 4x more expensive than in US... PCs are almost cheap, but the quality of then is near zero. Me, too, may have to buy a PC in the near future, but will not get rid of the Mac (I only have an iMac/233, plans to get a G4, but here it costs near 4000 dollars only the CPU of the G4/500). Sad, because I'm troubles-free since 1997, when I started to use Mac only. :( BTW, I'm getting the POV for Mac to take a look, sounds promissing.

Wow... That sure is a lot of money they are charging in Brazil. However, take a look at POV-Ray. Be warned, though, POV-Ray's image developing interface isn't as easy as Bryce. Happy modelling, dzarts. Siegebrt

Thanxs... The Mac price here is Brazilian Government's fault: near 120% taxes for computers, plus shipping. That, added to the fact that 1 US dollar = 1,90 Br Reals :/ I will that a look on POV, but, indeed, Bryce is one-of-a-kind software in 'easyness' :)

I used POV a long while ago.. wasn't too happy with it, but I did learn quite a bit while I was working on it.. At the time I was still programming, so it came very easily to me.. I haven't programmed anything in ages now, so I doubt I could use POV very easily anymore. =) Rosh

Also note that the version of the pic that was posted as a link is an analglyph (spelling?) pic - i.e. if you wear red and blue glasses the pic will be stereo - or 3d! Cool! I also looked at POV-Ray some years ago and have again recently - it's yet another one of those things that will require more time than I have at the moment - but it's got a good user base and there's lot's apparently on the web about it. - Dave www.citizendave.com

Actually this image would be one of 2 images used for a stereoglyphic Anaglyph or stereograph, one image is as is, with a second image slighlty off-centered, when viewed side-by-side, the images would produce the effect in being 3D, I have a tutorial on my sight that explains how to create anaglyphic red/blue images in Bryce that you can view with 3D glasses. http://www.chemicalstudios.com/tutorial/tut5/index.html Ken
