Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 25 9:50 pm)
The hads are a bit difficult to close though. Seems they fused the first joint of the fingers into the palms. THe second two work however. I've got a scene with a dragon holding something and I couldn't get him to fully wrap his fingers around the object dur to this. However it is a good buy. There's a free dragon out there as well, Anton's. The problem I have with this one is again in the hands; they're fused to one of the wing joints such that you cannot move them independantly. And if you fold the wing too far it rips the hand away from the fingers causing a bizzaare stretch mark before the first finger joint. This reminds me of another problem in the Zygote Dragon. The default pose is broken at the knees. Look at the figure from straight on and you'll see that the leg below the knee if offset from the leg above the knee and there's a stretch piece connecting them. Both dragons have additional downloadable morphs and poses. One each from what I've found so far. There's also one more commercial dragon but I have yet to buy this one. 'The Ultimate Dragon'. http://www.ev.ca/konan/

I have Konan's Ultimate Dragon, and it is every bit as good as Zygotes for less $$$. I also like it because it has lower "exposure factor" than Zygote's meaning that it is less apt to evoke a "Been there. Done that." reaction from viewers. In a message that I posted here the other day, there is a link to a page on Konan's site containing a short animation that I did of the Ultimate Dragon, if you are interested is seeing a little of what it can do. (But keep in mind this anim was more of a test of a special effects program - Illusion - than a serious attempt to model the dragon's motions.)

Ihawk: Yeah let us see, and perhaps post the cr2 of it so people with anton's dragon can get it as well. I assume in doing so you removed that hands that were there?

I am considering buying the Zygote Dragon for a specific project I am working on. Before I spend $80 on the model thought I have a few questions for anyone who has used it. The Zygote site says it has poseable limbs and facial morph targets. It doesn't specify being able to move the wings. Can the wings be moved? How much can the legs be posed? Do the legs have the same range of movement as a normal Poser figure? Can it be used with the Walk Designer? What kind of facial morph targets does it have? Thanks for any feedback.
