Subject: Help needed to defeat the Shrugging Man - generated .rsr ugly

I have tried to follow an advice how to defeat the Shrugging Man: 1. Create a pose, 2. render it, 3. use it as background, 4. move your item out of the way, 4. save under a different name (done that by clicking on the (+)sign to add to the library) 5. and rename the newly generated .rsr file. Mr Shruggy is defeated indeed, but I can't enjoy my victory yet: The .rsr is plain ugly! It seems to be lacking most of the colors. Where is my mistake?

Could be that your resolution is being reduced when Poser makes the thumbnail/rsr, maybe? 1. Render it as a 350x350 pixel image, and create your preview using a 350x350 render preview window.

or try

  1. Render it as a larger image, import the square prop and use the render as a material on the prop. Arrange the prop so it fills the viewing window, and save under another name as before.

Those work for me. What file format are you saving the rendered image in?

I have a tutorial on making nice, detailed .rsr files if you're interested.

I too use P3DO explorer for getting rid of that little man. It truly works great!
