Subject: GHOST V3 Male Pak

MeInOhio ( ) posted Thu, 01 May 2003 at 7:21 PM · edited Mon, 05 August 2024 at 7:19 AM

I figured there would be something posted about this by now, and I would just have to read about what I needed to do to get things to work. It looks like a real nice package, but when I try to apply the pose files that add the morphs, Poser tells me it can find this file and I need to find it. There was actually a whole series of files it wanted me to find. One of them was this: !DazVictoria3MalepakDeltasInjDeltas.DC_30_Powerhouse. While Poser was running, I tried to find this file, but I couldn't and of course Poser 5 evetually stopped responding. And then later, I found a file that almost matched. It was !DazVictoria3MalepakDeltasInjDeltas.PCBDC_30_Powerhouse I think it was PCB. It might have been PCM. Anyway, is this the right file. Are the file names wrong in the package? Are there some other files that I still haven't found? I installed V3 into the default Poser 5 directory, so I wouldn't have problems. When I installed her into a file of my choosing, the morphs wouldn't load unless I adjusted all the paths. And then when there was an update, I had to adjust them all again. It wasn't worth the hassle. That's why I just put her in the default poser runtime. Thanks. Kevin

Hey there .. I have seen some postings of problems with the paths the other packages in Poser 5 but I didn't pay that much attention to them sadly since I don't have P5. Have you tried to load the normal Powerhouse injection from the male morphs set before and did that work?

MeInOhio ( ) posted Thu, 01 May 2003 at 8:20 PM

Thanks for the response. Your package looks really nice. And I figured I could get better results than what I've been getting on my own. I have loaded some of the other male injection morphs and as far as I know, they have worked. I didn't get any error messages about not being able to locate files anyway. And you're right, there have been other messages similar to this about the paths in other packages. Can't remember which ones. And I can't say for sure that I loaded the Powerhouse injection. But I think I did. But I'll try it tonight to be sure. Thanks Kevin

PCBDC means you have the old version and need to update your V3 and the male version to the current build thats 1.1 I believe. Thats the original or one of the first few male versions and they changed stuff and stopped useing that name with the "PCBDC" in it. Only way to get a v3 male update is from daz and they put it in your check out area. The others for V3 female are on the corasponding daz v3 pages.

I am searching for messages now and I will try to post a link to the previous posts. I don't really have any experence with Poser 5 and I know the placement of the files can sometimes be messing it up. I built the files with the injection builder from Daz. Still looking for old messages. http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=1019202

That could be it tasquah ... Thanks. didn't know about the version names being different. And thanks MeInOhio .. hope that fixes it all :)

Well, I do have the service update. The new V3 has a blue disc behind her on the icon that you use to load her, doesn't she? If you don't load that one, then the male morphs won't inject at all. At least that's my understanding. The original package had icons without the blue disc. I have those too. And I have successfully loaded some of the other male morph packages. Like some of the DAZ poses and the characters like Brian, etc. But I'll check at DAZ and see if I can figure out what the update patch was and install it again.

MeInOhio ( ) posted Thu, 01 May 2003 at 8:51 PM

Well, I might not have the 1.1 version installed. I just went to DAZ and downloaded it and I looked for a file of the same number, but didn't see one, so maybe this is the first time I've installed 1.1. I'll give it a shot and let you know how it turns out. Thanks.

pdxjims ( ) posted Thu, 01 May 2003 at 9:01 PM

OK. I tried just about everything with V3 installs. First I loaded her into my P4 directories where everything else is. The upgrade loaded fine, but all the morphs don't work. I downloaded all the updates that I can find. Still doesn't work. OK, so I just tried to install into my P5 directory, and it can't find the d*mn required file. I'm going to copy all my V2 references to my P5 library and try one last time. There has to be a better way. I can't get rid of P4 because I need it to convert any of my P5 generated cloths so I can use Tailor. I don't want to have to switch to the P5 libraries for just V3 stuff. I also don't want to look at some of the 3rd party stuff and see if any of they're injection poses use the old method. This is just plain silly.

pdxjims ( ) posted Thu, 01 May 2003 at 10:45 PM

I'm more confused. I reinstalled V2 to my P5 directory to get my V3 reinstall to my P5 directory to work. OK, that worked. I then added every V3 thing I own in the order of purchase/reciept. I redownloaded all the updates for V3 and applied them. I then loaded all the V3 morphs in order. When I got to GoMcB, it gave me that stupid PCBDC error. There were no updates for the Male Morph pack available on the Daz site. Just a .sit file for Mac users. What am I missing here? Is there Male Morph pack update that isn't listed on the site?

tasquah ( ) posted Thu, 01 May 2003 at 11:02 PM

Like i said before you have the early model of v3 male the update is not at a regular part of daz for download. they put it only in check out area. like when you purchase something go to your cart to get it or send a email to support about how to get it. Its kind of a pain in the yoo hoo to install as well. You have to totaly uninstall the V3 male pack and then reinstall it.

pdxjims ( ) posted Thu, 01 May 2003 at 11:13 PM

So they don't have it listed off of the male morph page, they way all the rest of them are? I have to email for an update, when all the others are listed? What a bunch of crap. Thanks tasquah, for the info.

Dave ( ) posted Thu, 01 May 2003 at 11:15 PM

Must be a recent thing because I didnt have to go thru all that to get the update. And it works too! Dave

here are a few threads dealing with the v3 male update issue and this was mentioned in one of them : "if you purchased the Male Morph Pack prior to Feb 5 2003, then you can get a completely new installer package by writing to tech@daz3d.com - this is NOT an updater but a complete new install package that resolves all issues. It is product version 1.1 " http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=1091062

These are the updated files: "DC_30_.............." ------------------------------------------- These are the out of date file: "PCBDC_30_.............." ------------------------------------------- DC=DefinatelyCurrent PCDBC=PreviousCopyDownloadBetterCopy I don't remember why the dial names of the original INJ pack changed but they did. I think there was a need to order the dials when they added more in the last update. Also some people screamed about not wanting expressions in the faces I did so they redid them. I liked the old ones personally. :) The update just makes a new folder so youll have the faces with and without expressions built in. Call them tomorrow at 1-800-267-5170 if you feel you need to. -------------------------------------------------------- pdxjims, I use only P4 so you have some freaky thing going on. but if I can use it you can too I am sure. IM me and I can try to work with you on it. It sonds like your !DAZ folder is not in the right spot. But IM me. I sent them an email so they will know about this thread. Anyone ever have any morph inj pack questions drop me an email directly at anton@daz3d.com I made the pack so it might be faster to ask me instead of emailing them.

I wanted to remind people that these items are fully compatible with this fabu new pack and the original. Items that use the male Packs are: V3 Morphing Fantasy Dress V3 Fantasy Collar Set V3 Morphing Face mask V3 Ultra Catsuit V3 Sleeveless Body Shirt thingy. I think I got all the names right. :) --------------------------------------------------------- ps: they didn't add it as a regular update becaus eit is a full install. The current download already has the changes so they didn't want people downlaoding twice redundantly. People can forget when they buy stuff so it seemed easier to work with the original purchasers directly. I think an email had gone out but I forget. Anyway just so you know.

Let me know if there is anything still going on with anyones version beccause I want to make sure it works for all. I just used the updated version when ceating the set so that should solve most of the problems if the files are in the same place.

rbtwhiz ( ) posted Fri, 02 May 2003 at 10:14 AM

The Victoria 3 Service Release FAQ describes what was fixed/changed with the updates to the initial Victoria 3 products. The current most version is sr1.1. The sr1.1 update overwrites the sr1 files.

The Victoria 3 product page has the update for the base.

The Victoria 3.0 Head Morph Pak product page has the update for the head morphs.

The Victoria 3.0 Body Morph Pak product page has the update for the body morphs.

The Victoria 3.0 Male Morph Pak product page does NOT have the update on it, as it contains changes to virtually the entire product. The current most files for the pack include face (fc2) poses for the heads (vice pz2 poses, originally included), as well as source files (within the !DAZ directory) that begin with the injection type (InjDeltas|RemDeltas|Unhide|Hide) and ".DC_[##]" (vice ".PBMDC[##]_", originally included). An email was sent to every customer who purchased the product (to the email address for the account it was purchased with) prior to the update being rolled into the product installer (Feb 6, 2003). That email included instructions on how to retrieve the new installer. The newsletter that followed the update made mention of that very same thing. New purchases after that update receive the new product installer.

If you do not have the files I've mentioned, or are simply having problems with the product, please send email to tech@daz3d.com indicating such.

I got the update from DAZ. They're really great. I'll install it and let you know the results. But I'm sure everything will be fine. Kevin

Everything works now that I've installed the V3malepak update. thanks.

Good to hear .. Hope you like the set now that you can use it fully.

MeInOhio ( ) posted Tue, 06 May 2003 at 6:50 PM

Thanks. I already do. I noticed in your package that you load more than one of the body morphs. I guess that's what you would call them (like the Powerhouse). I never thought of doing that. I just loaded one at a time and wondered why I didn't get results like other people got. You learn something new everyday. Thanks for your concern. I hope your product is a big seller for you. I recommend it.

Ghostofmacbeth ( ) posted Tue, 06 May 2003 at 9:24 PM

Yeah .. I mix and match and use whatever morph it takes. I know there is at least 75 dials twisted per figure. Glad it is working for you. Thanks..
