Things really haven't changed altogether that much. I can't quite tell what that is next to your Grandfather, but I still use the old trick of hanging the camera bag from the tripod to give it extra weight and stability. I don't recognise the camera. The one on the tripod near the center may be a press camera, like a Crown Graphic 4X5. They had a viewfinder along one edge, and a rangefinder along the other. A TLR of some sort over on the right. Hope the camera gives you good service, and makes your Grandfather proud.
Hope you got the jacket as well. What a great shot. One of the best pictures I have ever taken was with a yashica that had double lens and the pop up, or open up, view finder that you could barely see anything in. I think it used 127 or 126 film that I haven't been able to find for a while now - haven't looked very hard though. Enjoy playing with it and I'll bet you will be surprised how good of a job it will do for you.
Let's see, there is 3 4x5 crowns, 1 tlr rollei, a lieca and the other 2 I have no clue. Those belonged to his friend. Nope, didn't get the jacket but the lieca resides in a place of honor among my collection. And unfortunately it rained here for the better part of the day so I stayed inside and worked on my dreaded honeydo list. 3 items down another 5 added on.
