Poser Technical F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 13 12:50 am)
Welcome to the Poser Technical Forum.
Where computer nerds can Pull out their slide rules and not get laughed at. Pocket protectors are not required. ;-)
This is the place you come to ask questions and share new ideas about using the internal file structure of Poser to push the program past it's normal limits.
New users are encouraged to read the FAQ sections here and on the Poser forum before asking questions.
Object rsr's are a pain in the glutimus maximus (come to think of it all rsr's are). Just wait till you start playing with geom swiching, every time you change an object you have to delete the figures master rsr (the geom's are saved to the figures rsr, not their own individual ones), But the real pain is that you can't delete the rsr of a figure thats been loaded even if you delet it from the document. You have to shut Poser down, delete the file, start poser again, then go through the whole cycle again next time you want to chainge something.

OK, Enough's enough! I just discovered that if you remap an external obj, you have to delete the .rsr before the new mapping takes effect! What else is in these damn things? Has anyone ever stripped a .rsr down and listed what's in it? I spend half my time closing Poser and deleting the blasted things. Yeah, yeah... I know. I should install poser 5, but I'll wait a while... mac
