Subject: Tailor has disappeared from DAZ3D

PeterWahoo ( ) posted Wed, 07 May 2003 at 9:08 PM · edited Tue, 24 December 2024 at 9:07 PM

OK, first Tailor was sold here at Renderosity. Then codetwister moved it to DAZ3D. Recently, there was an update to Tailor at DAZ3D. Someone said they'd released the beta update by mistake. Now Tailor has disappeared from DAZ3D, and is not back here at Renderosity. So who has the latest news?!

They must be working on updating the web site. Now it's there, but there is a message stating you can't get the 1.5 update for a few hours. Better call it a night.

there was a thread the other day that the update was actually a beta and not the final release. I suspect Codetwister is finishing it up and DAZ I'm sure will have it posted when its done.

Hope it's soon... Dave

Hi all, two weeks ago we sent an info to DAZ. Tailor was not working with P5-figures. If you try to load a P5-figure, the upload fails (.. groups not found...). We were forced to to edit the *.cr2 for avoiding this problem. Perhaps this might be a reason for an update. Daniel + Matthias Kruse

Oh great, now Tailor has totally disappeared from the DAZ Store again. Can't find it by a search. I tried to use the feedback form, or send an email, but it won't work if you have web-based email like me. Come on, don't these guys know what they're doing? *** That Poser 5 problem has existed for months, so it's not any news. Codetwister had posted a response here at Renderosity, basically saying he didn't have any plans to update The Tailor for Poser 5. He felt The Tailor was no longer necessary. Then Codetwister said he may have misjudged the need, and would think about it. Then, recently, DAZ came out with an update. If the update was Beta, why in the heck would they have offered it on the product page? Doesn't the right hand know what the left is doing?

PW, that 1.5 being up was a mistake fom DAZ. It was not meant to be there at all, being a beta. SO they pulled it down again. I have it and there are a few problems with it, although for the most part it's fine. The new stuff like the 'queue' and such is excellent, well worth the wait. :] Fish

Even though The Tailor does not show up in a search of the site, the page is still available at the link above. I don't think they meant to take it down completely, but may be unaware that their search engine leaves a bit to be desired. There are many items which don't show up in their search engine, and this has been the case ever since they updated the site. I sure wish they would fix it to really search the site rather than some outdated database.

But read the info on the update. It's a week or so old, and says you can get the update in a few hours!

Yes, and they posted a message here yesterday or the day before saying that the update had been delayed, and a new announcement would be made when it becomes available.

the beta version works fairly well ... but be assured they will post a thread here as soon as its up.
