Message1231273.jpgComing Soon, exclusively to The Renderosity Market Place

This Week's Model
................
This week's model, Aislynn, is both pierced and tattooed in some.... shall we say, "interesting" places. Because of the extremely high resolution at which they were shot, these images could be taken into any character direction the artist cares to go. But this model is especially suited for darker, more sinister and brooding looking creations.

With Aislynn's raven hair, deep brown eyes and slightly asian looking facial structure, you'll see that God has done most of the work for you. Imagine what wonderful character variations will be possible with these brilliantly resolute photos and your own creativity.
................

Vitals
................
Race: Caucasian
Age: 22
Hair: Dark Brown
Complexion: Fair
Tattoos: Unicorn in the small of back | Rose design on left outer thigh.

About This Product Line:
Our mission is simply to supply professional or recreational texture artists with the highest quality source photos possible, without the considerable overhead expense of hiring a model and renting a studio.

This product includes 82, 6 mega pixel nude photographs of the subject. These images are royalty free. Yes, this means you can sell products you create with these photos as long as the original file cannot be extracted.

Every imaginable angle needed to produce a quality, hi res texture map has been covered with our model.

Stay tuned for this useful add to all character creators. And yes, we do accept requests for future texture source package model types.

Interesting Idea. I'll keep it in mind.

What an excellent resource! Especially for those of us just learning to create our own textures. Looks like a great new addition to the Marketplace, and my shopping cart. :) -Molly

Very interesting, as I have been thinking about getting a digital camera for making textures. I would be interesed in seeing a sample swatch from the face, near the eyes and or lips at full resolution, maybe @ 200x200px. That would give me a fair idea of the level of detail to expect. Also, more thunbs of the various photos so I can see how well the colors match from shot to shot. And finally, How Much?

Disciple3d ( ) posted Fri, 09 May 2003 at 5:10 PM

The "How much" hasn't yet been nailed down. It cost me almost $500 for this shoot after paying the model and leasing the studio. Releases have been signed and the rights are all in order and on file with both myself and the studio where the photos were shot. The resolution on the photos is 6 Mega pixel and each one weighs in at 17MB. The camera is a commercial grade Sony that goes for around $4,200. I borrowed that one from the studio. It is pretty awesome though. The lighting and the super high resouliton are what really seperate these pics from what the average consumer camera would produce for the do-it-yourselfers. Take for example my Canon Powershot G2. It's a very nice 4 MP consumer models and takes pretty good pics. I made my Chavez character with it. But, compared to the pro level camera KIRBY-GUFFEY studios in Mathews, NC uses, it's not in the same ball park at all. We can probably work something out for a higer res preview once it comes out, but I wouldn't want to provide a full res swath that could be sampled. FYI, that's just in general. You being who you are and working with Lourdes who's done a lot for my site and I feel like I know pretty well, WE can work something out. But in general providing thumbnails of all 82 pictures with the naughty bits blurred out would be too time consuming and labor intensive. Trust me, every angle you need to make an entire texture map of a human female is covered in great lighting. I hope to produce at least two of these each month if the product takes off.

so they are going to be a CD product? 80 pics at 6megapixel 17mb each, ouch what is that 1400mb? If the quality is good and the price is in a decent range I'm sure it will take off. since they can be used to make resellable textures, that does help even if the price is a bit high. very interested in this.

Are all the pic files named appropriately? That would be a helpful little detail... I guess it will all come down to price...

Brent, saw your other post in the merchants forum, and I think this is just damn cool. And Chavez is a top notch skin map. Fine work Sir. These promise to be absolutely just the job....been feeling the need for some of our own characters recently, because of a few things we've got on a back-burner...including a possible foray into proper character accessories. Is only this pack going to be exclusive here, or the following ones as well (assuming you do more)?

"so they are going to be a CD product? 80 pics at 6megapixel 17mb each, ouch what is that 1400mb?" Nice catch. Actually, Kodak has a product, it's a free download (all the info and instructions are in the readme)that artist will need to grab that takes what's on the cd, a specially compressed version of the image that gets it down to 5.2mb, and blows it out to the full sized 17mb file. I know it sounds crazy and like it would effect the quality, but it doesn't. It's a digital photography industry standard. I guess the original file is a compressed tiff and the kodak software creates an uncompressed tiff for you to work with on your hard drive. Xena, I see where you're going with this. I plan to make the ProModel Texture Source series an exclusive product at Rosity. Clint has put some energy into helping me concept this product and shape it's marketing. So I feel obliged to develop this line for RMP. However, if this sells like gang buster, you bet your boots, I'll try something similar at the other store where I market, just not this same series. In other words, I wouldn't sell a models images here and then relabel it and sell it elsewhere. It would have to be a seperate model/shoot and a different brand probably. You know that's not all required of me, it just feels like the right way to approach it. I suppose it would be possible to be non exclusive, but at this point while I'm forking out the overhead to get these out, I want to make sure I can make it back, otherwise the line won't go very far. I'm getting sleepy. Hope that makes sense. Regards, Brent
