Feel the Fear_ a new highly detailed model of an Emperor Scorpion scaled to be a fighting beast or machine. Comes with a whole set of detailed textures and bump maps and 9 seperate add-on conforming figures to supplement its destructive power. Where appropriate Easy Pose is built in. I couldn't find the link in 'new products' but got a link from the DAZ Homepage.

The textures include a couple of 'natural' sets/2 chinese style lacquered sets/2 mecha style/silve & gold embossed with additional coloured jewels/4 rusty, battered colored paint styles.

All the textures are applied with MAT poses. The beast is set up with anatomical joint limits so is easy to pose. The Easy pose dials in the head/thorax make for easy posing of the tail section for that killer strike.

Ahh! Be patient! DAZ haven't put the thumbnail link up yet. I think the following link will take you straight to the product page.

Oh wow, he's a Must Have, just because he's absolutely gorgeous. NICE work.

Oddly enough, I found the thumbnail in the loft. I thought the loft was just for older products to renew interest? Terrific work, by the way - love the mech-looking one!

Oh, I see - I just got the DAZ Store bulletin, which implies the Loft is being revamped as the "Special Interest" area - Web pages just haven't been relabeled yet. Oddly, it also says the Scorpion is by Vairesh...

noggin ( ) posted Sat, 10 May 2003 at 4:25 AM

Spooky! This is not a hairy scorpion! I hope they aren't paying Vairesh for him! and offer through to 19th March????

I've been waiting for this little guy, turned out great!

Ohh!! How cool is this?? Off to grab it!

thgeisel ( ) posted Sat, 10 May 2003 at 12:15 PM

Looks great!!! But why did DAZ put it in the Loft??? I look there very rarely, and without your thread here i would not seen it.

noggin ( ) posted Sat, 10 May 2003 at 2:06 PM

Thanks you guys. thgeisel, I've really got no idea_they didn't warn me and I can't say I'm awefully happy. Like you I virtually never go in the loft_ my view is if I wanted a model that found its way in to the loft I'd already have it! I'll drop them a line on Monday!

Seriously cool, noggin, great work!

I've been waiting for this one since I saw your earlier WIP's! I think they're revamping the Loft into a sort of specialty area, but they really should market that concept before putting new products in that might get overlooked....especially if what they're really wanting to do is promote their "old stuff". Like most, I rarely visit the loft.

Giana ( ) posted Mon, 12 May 2003 at 1:13 PM

colour me all schnuckered... i saw him through random cruising o'er at Daz, thought it odd him being in the loft, opened the page up and then... i fell in absolute love!!! beautiful, deadly, and just my kind of beastie... i would simply ADORE having him in sculptured form, on my coffee table with one of those gorgeous oriental lacquers!!! thanks heaps!!!

noggin ( ) posted Mon, 12 May 2003 at 2:00 PM

Thanks again one and all. I've had a nice e-mail from Ryan at DAZ. DAZ are apparently redesigning their set-up_ my model 'jumped the gun' but there is going to be a new 'special interest section' While I'm here, I had a mail from 'gecco'who bought the model. He is doing a Clash of the Titans animation and has asked me to add IK chains to the legs so that the feet stay 'fixed' to the floor when dragging the body upwards. I've achieved this without too much difficulty, and it looks good_ worth sending the ammended files up to DAZ?

Giana ( ) posted Tue, 13 May 2003 at 7:42 AM

absolutely, and please!!!!

LaurieA ( ) posted Tue, 13 May 2003 at 9:07 AM

He was just too cool to pass up! Terrific work Nigel :o). Laurie

sandoppe ( ) posted Tue, 13 May 2003 at 11:58 AM

As a fix....yes, please :) Got him as soon as he came out! :)

noggin ( ) posted Tue, 13 May 2003 at 4:34 PM

If anyone wants the ammended CR2 prior to DAZ accepting it, I'll put it up on my home page here.
