Subject: Cat walk sequence

Appreciate if someone could explain to me procedure for cat walk sequence walking along a moving path...unlimited number of frames and distance. I have the various motion files that provide a full walk cycle which lasts only 26 frames and moving across the screen the appropriate distance. I have tried to use the Poser4 walk designer and have selected the figure type for the cat but the designer distorts the cat to make him walk like a two legged figure. Does walk designer work with four legged creatures??? Any help. Thanks Ray Van Sickler

Walk Designer needs a 30-frame sequence, and you may need to re-apply the 30-frame sequence for each 30-frame segment of your animation. I've got a cat walk for Walk Designer up in my Freestuff which includes full instructions on how to get it to work. If it's not the exact sort you want then it should be relatively easy to re-time your own sequence and use that instead following the same instructions.

I was intending to convert my cat running animation sequence for Walk designer as well at some stage. If you'd like that Designer-ised I can move it up the 'to do' list. (The link's down just at this moment- I'm finding out why right now. In the meantime, I could email you the file if you like.)

The link's now working again. :)

I managed to get the wolf and horse walking in Walk Designer, myself, so that pretty much ends the myth that it only works for bipeds. We need more quadruped walk cycles.

Thanks a lot for the files....no problem downloading. I will work on them tomorrow as it is midnight here in Saudi Arabia. Regards Ray Van Sickler

I've still got a lion walk cycle in the works, Little_Dragon, and several horse cycles associated with the tack I'm making (High School dressage movements). I'll agree that there aren't many free quadruped walk cycles around. I haven't seen ANY for snakes, either. I think the snake would be quite fun to try- might try it sometime. :)

The Poser snake doesn't have nearly enough body segments, in my opinion, to be suitable for either posing or animation. I'm thinking of upgrading it with Ajax's EasyPose Snake product, or buying noggin's EasyPose Python.
