Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 23 7:38 pm)
Yup. What EricofSD and Fyrespirit said. If I'm working to a deadline anything that speeds up the creative process is useful. Premade poses save me a lot of time in laying out rough drafts and leave me with only the tweaking to do. And lets face it, there's only so many ways Vicky can sit cross-legged with a finger up her nose. :o).

What those guys said ^^^^ My goal is to make a graphic novel (fancy word for comic) with Poser4. I shudder to think the time it would take to paintsakingly do each pose from scratch, for all the figures in a scene. If I did that then I'd only be able to do one page per... oooh half year? :) What I use a lot is partial poses and bodylocks. Then if I rougly have what I had in mind I'll start tweaking 'till I got it just right. Cheers, Axe.
Tweaking a canned pose can take almost an hour or two, depending on how elaborate it is. I'll usually pick a pose that has the legs and the torso in the right position and the arms close and then go from there. Basically, for me it's eliminating the tedious, and concentrating on the expressive. Emily
They can seem expensive... ... but time is money. I prefer to make my own... but like FyreSpyrit, Marque, Queri, Eric... generally start with a stock pose and re-jig until it looks absolutely nothing like the original. In fact it's usually completely different. This is nice, as I can can use a stock P4 pose on Vicky/Steph and spend hours tweaking until it looks how I want. Starting from scratch can be a little unpleasant... But I've never bought poses and don't intend to start now! Howard:)
Well, Graviton, certainly not as provocative as your "Don't you think a heck of a lot of Poser artists here are slightly pervy?" musing, or even your "Why do PC drones insist on attacking Macs & Mac users?" question. Life is full of mysteries. Most people do what pleases them and some are pleased by unsubtle criticism in the form of questions. It takes all kinds :-)

Why do people download poses? Surely the point of poser is to....well...erm....Pose? It's like buying a pre-assembled Jigsaw puzzle, wheres the skill in that? Just another one of my random thoughts, nothing to get wound up about.
Anytime I see something screech across a room and latch onto someone's neck, and the guy screams and tries to get it off, I have to laugh, because what is that thing?
