Subject: Poser crashes when exporting Wavefront OBJ's

Like the title says, my Poser 4 crashes when I try to export OBJ's. And the other format's too, except DXF. It catches some error, and I'm returned to the program, but most of the menu options are greyed out. Any ideas? greg

Have you updated Poser? www.curiouslabs.com

Are you sure you have installed the proper plug-ins?? Make sure they are there or this will indeed not work for you.

Have you updated to the new version (118) of Poser4? If so, did you make absolutely sure that you deleted the contents of your plug-ins folder (or moved them totally outside of the Poser Folder hierarchy) before you did the update? If you didn't, you will have duplicate plug-ins - and this will cause crashes like you have described. Paul

I'm having the same problem right now. I'm trying to export to .obj so I can take my models into Bryce 4 and it give me "Caught C exception: exception_access violation trapped at 1b:26b2da1" as the error message. It also gives me the problem of greying out most of my menu options. I'm downloading the newest update right now, so hopefully this will help.

I had that problem with two of the patches. If you have the LATEST patch, did you remember to delete EVERYTHING from Plug-Ins before installing? I hear that can cause a LOT of problems (including crashes during export/save) if you don't!

Oh. LoboUK posted almost the same thing I did... I need to READ these things instead of skimming, i guess! :-)

I had the same problem until I installed the update. That cured it. Melanie
