This is probably the last WIP i'll post of this image.

Please give me some pointers of how to improve this.
For example, I want the textures to look less plastic but I just can't get it right.

Please help!

if i may, it's mostly the bump maps that are missing... also the fact that the lighting seems a bit too strong, at least from my eyes... One small nitpick would be the sides of the model box, which are too white. put some writing in there, whatever. aside from all that, excellent, and I do mean it. drac

This is fantastic. your going for a realistic ambient look, but you could drop the light back a little from 256. 2 small notes. the door trim is stark white as is the handle assembly. slightly grayer for the trim, darker, maybe metal for the handle stuff. Right now it pulls the eye away from the main focus.You could also blur in render or in post for DOF. Glad you put your soda back there, I hate when those get knocked over, sticky everywhere. Nice work.

Looks great! Only thing I can see is if the bullentin board is made of cork then it's way too shiny, in fact there shouldn't be any specularity to it. BTW who's the lovely young lady? :)

I'm confused..I thought a plastic model was supposed to look plastic. Recognize the poster from a book of propaganda posters I bought once.

Looking excellent. I would tweak down the ambient lighting sources a bit and bring up the task light sources a little to compensate. This is getting rather impressive IMO.

Pass no temptation lightly by, for one never knows when it may pass again!

Me too. Plastic have to seem plastic, my friend, and you've done a great job with it! :) As for the bump on the wall, some weeks ago someone here revealed me that the bump setting can go well over 100 if you put the number manually instead of using the slide... Maybe a tad less light to give the feeling of a workshop (where the only thing really well lighted is usually the desk) and... stop posting WIPs, because otherwise there will be always some dumbpicker like me finding somthing to be tweaked "you know, just a tad bit further"... LOL, and you'll never put an end to it (and this is waaaaay good!) ;-) Stefano

I almost agree with The Bryster on this one... Noticed a few small things though... I see paint on the desk, but none on the sides of the cans. Usually if it gets sloppy it's dripping down the sides of the can too. If the bulletin board is supposed to be cork, using random mapping with a wood texture will create the effect. Right now it looks like a fine grain veneer, which seems odd. Randomizing will give it that cork texture. Other than that, it looks almost like a photo.

There is a free real cork texture on ... mayang.com, I think. It's called UTC1_S_083.jpg. BTw, the ambience is set too high on the desk, and I think on the other textures, too. Agree with the thing about the bump maps. You might also want to put a bit of Metallicity to make the textures look less plastic, too.
