Caught this brightly colored guy, hanging around our Koi Pond the other day. The wind was really blowing and I had to stand on an Ice Chest to get high enough to get a top angle. So I wasn't able to get a great shot.

cool shot (ice chest, get it) I know I have issues ;o Beautiful really. That Koi pond would give lots of photo opportunities~ sweet!

when i was a kid we used to get loads of dragon flies, this is the first time i've seen a red one.

Thanks for the comments everyone. This was the 1st time I have seen a red one. I wonder if they are rare? Maybe I have a rare photo worth lots of money. LOL Later, got to come up with a May challenge photo.

That's a pretty one, Randy! :-) I've seen lots of these when I was a kid, but I agree, it's not as common as the green and blue ones. (I even remember catching a red one with dark red wings! I let it go soon after catching it.) I just love these creatures... (*
