i can't see any pictures!, in my gallery some pics show up and others don't. what gives?! and i can't see ANY picture made by other people

Either that or a lot of people have posted images of red crosses in white boxes. Oh gee I'm so funny. If flushing your cache doesn't work (I've never done this anyway) then try another ISP. Or another browser.

Enable cookies and make sure your machine clock and date are correct.

Tuttle its kinda hard to try another ISP on the whim they can be expensive :P. Anywho if he can see some pics he prob has cookies enabled. Try flushing ur Cache and pay attention to your connection. Are you recieving info? Is you connection slow? If so do this the hard way hehe Load the page. Let it all load. Whatever pics have the white x right click if ur a windows user and click show pic. Do this with each one. Now they all are saved in ur temp internet folder. Dont flush this unless you need to. I know its also ur cache sometimes it becomes stale but none the less unless u need to do not dump ur temp internet folder after you get all the pics. It makes for easier loading. Then when you go to the gallerly ur internet connection only has to load up new pics.

Ah http://www.freeola.com/ That's UK based. Anything that provides an internet connection here in the US will cost something. I don't think there is any free services left...

Hey Nixworks, I have just had a similar problem using Opera 7. Turns out my firewall is causing the problems. So if you're using zonealarm or Norton Firewall or something like that, try fiddling with the security zone settings. HTH.

AS- Right. I use a paid service anyway but it's so crap that I'm cancelling it next week. I just wish I could get broadband in this area... :(

I use AT&T Broadband (1,500kbps), I'll never go back to dial-up. There are still lots of areas that don't have it though, even here in Southern California, I count myself lucky. AS

The `free' ISPs in the UK aren't really free. All local calls over here are charged by the minute, and these ISPs have a deal with the telcos to take a slice of that; so you're paying around 1 to 3 pennys per minute while you're online, but that's all. It is still a good idea to have a couple of spare accounts of that type in case your own ISP goes down temporarily, though. M.

Untrue I'm afraid, the telecoms are the only ones making any money on that. That kind of connection (usually referred to as "No Ties") does nothing for us (the independent ISPs) except branding. It's a loss leader. That's why people on those packages tend to get bombarded with sales calls and emails asking them to try one of the unmetered services :-S

ISPs cost about $25 a month for unlimited login and DL and a 5 hour connection and 20 min idle limit and local phone calls are fixed rate!!! (at about 15 - 22c) neat huh?
