Does anyone know of a tutorial that teaches you how to create a carachter that you can then post for sale or free etc... without violating copyright of Daz etc...? Thanks for the help!

je_kuthiel, Its probley going to be in your best intrest to be a bit more specific. Did you mean for instance that you wanted to make from scratch a whole new victoria like mesh or just dial twisting the morphs to make your own look ? And if so what model did you mean V1,v2,v3 or Mike 1, 2 or judy or..... Were you wanting to learn to make a texture for the model as well or just the morphs?

I'm sure there must be tutorial out there somewhere, but I dont know of any to point you to. There are various ways to do what you want. DAZ does not allow you to distribute their morph targets. Method 1: Get Morph Manager V4 from the free stuff. Create a character using the standard DAZ morphs. Save a pose using "Include morph channels in pose set". Load it in Morph Manager, and click the "More Options" box, select select "Delete all channels from file, resave the file. This creates a MOR Pose file that when applied will recreate the dial settings you used. Because the file only contains dial settings it's ok to distribute it. It works for the P4 characters, Victoria 1 and 2, It probably works for the P5 characters, can't see why not. I don't know about Victoria 3, I'll let the people who have her answer that one. Metho 2: Load the characters cr2 into Morph Manager, delete all the morph channels from the file, and save it with a new name. Add morphs you created your self, either by using magnets, or in a mesh editor like Anim8tor, Zbrush, Rhino, etc. These morphs belong to you so you can distribute them. As I understand it DAZ does not mind you distributing the cr2, as long as all their morphs have been striped out of it. Method 3: Make your own morphs as in method 2 above. Make a Delta Injection Pose to inject your morphs into preexisting morph channels in the target character. I don't have time to explain making a Delta Injection Pose, but if you search this and the Poser Technical forum for "Delta Injection" and "Morph Injection" you should find some information.

If your refering to making a mesh you can see the result sof my efforts a couple of posts down (see link above) The process is not for the faint of heart, but an amature as myself can do it if you have patience. Even witha tutorial you need a couple of anatomy referance books

First of what software and modeler are you using?
You shoudl be confortable with NURBS or spline modleing.
If you do not know what they are, its a good place to start/
Me I use NURBS modeler. Sorry I have no tutorial avaialble.

Here is a site with very very VERY brief into into making a human - its about 50 pages.

The author also has a book on it
