An hour or so ago I posted a message with the title "Hey guys what's...?". I received a message from renderosity that LoboUK had answered me and when I returned to the forum my message was gone along with the reply. Have I done something wrong? If so then I'm truly sorry I didn't mean to.

MAYA is a very high-end 3d modelling programme. It creates OBJ files and the only limit is your imagination. MAYA runs under NT (not under Windows 9x). The real problem with the s/ware is it's price. It is high-end, professional s/ware - I don't know what the US dollar price is, but prices in the UK range from 7k to about 16k! You can find out more about MAYA from Alias Wavefront. Paul

Thanks for the adress. I searched all over the internet without any luck. My school has Maya installed in one, only one, system and they don't let us, poor science majors, play with it. Anyway. Did you look at the prices!!! I would have to work my whole life to pay for it. Thanks again for the tip.I appreciate it.

Seeker- I don't know if this will help much, but you might want to check into their student discount. I don't remember off hand what it was, but it's a lot less than the retail price.

I'm located to Athens Greece and I'm a computer science major not graphics or anything so I don't know if the discount would work for me. Anyway even if it was half the price I wouldn't be able to afford it but thank you for the thought.

From what I've heard, the student discount for May - applicable to ALL students - is one sixth of the retail price - and STILL obscenely expensive (about 1400, I think about the same as the student price for 3DSMax)

From what I see I guess it must be worth the money. I think that you guys could do wonders with a program like that.
