Subject: .cr2 hacking help?

I've just started using cr2's from poser figures to make my own conforming clothing. Is there any kind of documentation available on the .cr2 file format and how to use them? My biggest problem right now is that I end up with unneccessary materials on the figures.....

hmmm... yeah! wait... ::rummages around in bookmarks:: oh no! i can't find it! d'oh! there used to be a breakdown of the cr2 stuff, somewhere on the web. maybe search the tutorial database, that might've been where i found it. anyhow, to get rid of the extra materials, just go and delete them all. (they're at the bottom under the 'figure' section.) poser will re-incarnate the ones that do exist on the obj, though it will give them funky colours. (you could also just delete the ones you know aren't there.)

Note that that page belongs to your very own forum moderator, Kevin Rose! Lots of useful stuff, but be aware it doesn't cover P4, which added a lot of things. Among many other things, you can change those above-mentioned funky colors permanently to white or whatever, with a few clicks, with CR2Edit. Dan http://www.neca.com/~dwilmes/cr2edit.html

I keep thinking of updating it, but have not gotten around to it. It takes a fair amount of research time to do it, and I've been too busy.

Kevin, I know just what you mean, about the research AND the time! My remark was NOT meant as criticism, of course, and if you want to pick my brains on the changes since P4, pick away! Dan Sorry, Win only for apps for now Email me for BStart, a new front end for Bryce. PStart for Poser free to registered CR2Edit users. http://www.neca.com/~dwilmes/cr2edit.html

Also Morph manager 4.0 has a utility to clean out unused materials. You have to load the cr2 and its obj file. It checks all materials and removes any not in the obj plus it adds any in the obj not in the cr2.
