Sorry, Space Station Alpha is already taken (grin). For those of you who don't know, the original program was called Space Station Freedom, then Space Station Alpha (during the transition period between the old and new programs) and finally, The International Space Station as it remains today. And, good news, Zvezda, the Russian Service Module has passed all its tests and is scheduled to launch between July 8 and 14. Looking forward to using these models myself.
The Station is planned for completion in 2005 but a crew will go up in October of this year to begin actually living there. I'm a little obsessed with the station since I was a counselor at U.S. Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama in 1989 and have been working on the real thing since July of 1990. If you're interested, NASA a lot of excellent information on the station including capabilities, pictures, faqs, etc at http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/station/reference/index.html Boeing has a great site too at http://www.boeing.com/defense-space/space/spacestation/ I've been wanting to do another station pic and Ed's modules are giving me ideas.
