Subject: Should I Buy It?

I have a question about photoshope... Which ones have the clone tool, and the perspective tool? What other tools are really useful? And what is the best program I can buy for my money's worth? Any Ideas would be very helpful! Johannah

I use 7 which has the Clone Stamp, perspective tool, and a slew of stuff I've yet to figure out. Photoshop 7, though pricey, is well worth it.

I could not tell you how much I paid for it, but I can tell you, the quality live on long after the price is forgotten.

version 8's comin out in a few months... if yer willing to wait, you'll prolly find a great deal after v8 comes out

a perspective tool? or does that mean transform? clone has been around for quite a while.. but when I get my pen mouse/graphics tablet and get that diploma i'm going to get version 8.. or can I some how up grade the educational verson of 7 to the educational version of 8 real cheap perhaps I should fill out all that paper work that's in an achive box under the stairs and try and figure out the legalities of my hopes to keep up with the latest trends...

That Other app is cheaper. And has the word 'Pro' in it. But I do not know about the clone tool. You could try a demo first. It is everywhere. Like on the adobe site.

There's a reason that Other app is cheaper. PS7 is well worth it, but as ficticious said, 8's coming out soon(3rd quarter, if I recall correctly).

'cheaper' is a versatile word... ;-)

if you want inexpensive... but PS quality.. use Photoshop elements.... has most fo the great tools and FX... just not as much on the filters and such... and as for PS8... just because you read it on a website.. doesnt mean its true... Adobe now offers a 6month in advance preorder... and guess what... PS8 isnt available yet... sorry to burst every1s bubble... but from my point of view its a rumor right now... and considering i work for a very popular college here in fl.. in the multimedia department... and the head director hasnt hear a thing about it.... its still at least within 6months from now... but once again.. just my opnion.. but dotn get your hopes up... call adobe if you doubt me... theyll tell you the same thing..... "We offer a 6 month Preorder on all of our new releases, PS8 is not one of them" this is dejavue... caus ei remember havign this convo with sum1 in the PS forum 2 weeks ago or so.... he was bablign about Illustraor 11 and indesign3 all comign otu at teh same time.... dunno... well see... ps i dont believe it till its on the adobe website... =P

LOL!!! That's cool. I'm thinking of getting PSP7...but I don't know cause I'm going to have to save some money.

Hoofdcommissaris ( ) posted Wed, 28 May 2003 at 6:34 AM

Photoshop Elements 2 is a seperate program from the big one. And it's just $99 ! That's even cheaper than the boxed version of PSP. There is also a demo on the Adobe site. But that's a hefty 188 Mb. By the way, the rumours I hear about Photoshop 8 are that the improvements are mostly geared towards digital photographers, so FearaJinx might not have great needs for the wait.

GODspeed ( ) posted Wed, 28 May 2003 at 10:08 AM

feara..... if you not in college... find someone who is... they sell PS7 @ my college for 400 rather then 800... student discount... as long as you got a student ID.. 99% of stores have to sell you the program at student rate..

FearaJinx ( ) posted Wed, 28 May 2003 at 10:47 AM

Thanks GODspeed!!! I am in college and that discount sounds like a good idea...but should I get Paint Shop Pro or PhotoShop 7? Johannah
