Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 25 12:38 pm)
??? I'd like to hear more. My recollection (often flawed) is that when this came up before, there were few raves about the book. Might I be thinking of a P3 or some other P4 handbook by another author? I say that with no disrespect intended this author, I realize that the Poser lunatic fringe does tend to gather here, so impressing this crowd with a "how-to" may be a bit tough. Had I never found these forums though, I'm certain I would have bought a book, any book, related to Poser.
The book has very good information in it, however, the author's illustrations, especially his Poser renderings, aren't the best. He seems to use all the default settings on everything, causing his scenes to look sort of basic and cartoonish, so the only really good illustrations in it are the color plates in the center of the book, by other artists. I think he didn't bother to take the time to render good images with better textures, camera focal settings, lighting, etc. (maybe he had a tight deadline on publication or something, because I'm sure he could do much better). His Poser illos don't impress me at all. However, as I said above, the info he has in the book is more than useful. Melanie

I'm sort of new to Poser and was wondering if the Shamms Moritier book " Poser 4 handbook" is any good. I know I purchased his book on Bryce and...just awful. I know he can do better than that. Anyone have any opionions on this or any other book that might be out there? Thank you so much.
