Don't sweat it if other's work seems amazing, it all takes practice and time, not to mention some techniques :) You're of to a good start there. That piece shows some good initiative. Just look around here and in the links for some tutorials. There is always something new to learn, always something that'll make you go "Gosh, wish I thought of that." Use the artwork here that you like as a guidline, see what techniques were used, etc. Lighting is often the key to a good render, so are good use of textures and/or bumpmaps. I've been working with Poser 4pp over a year now, and I feel only now am I slowly getting there. So, just keep at it, and one day you'll make a render, sit back and go "Damn, I made that." Cheers, Axe.
Looks like you have a strong point of view and you're developing good skills towards expressing it. "Is this any good?" Yes. If you're like most of the real artists here, you'll never be quite satisfied with your own work, but by all means explore all the tools at your disposal and share your results. Happy rendering.
Okay don't look at other peoples work and think that your sucks becaus it's not as good, being 16 too I try to look at what other people are doing and learn. I know I'm not as good as some people out there but then I just smile and say "give my 10 more years and I will be better than that and still just 26" :Use those great artist here to learn, what are they doing that gets you to look at their pics and say "wow"? Keep working, learning, read tutorial, ask for help (you will get it here :). I know I spend most of my time reading tutorials and looking at pics, working on some new techniques, rather than posting in the gallery. Finaly you are doing great, and like the rest of us, keep working and you will get there in no time :Berglind H
Yes there are some absolutely amazing pieces in the galleries, but do remember the people who made them have probably been doing it for years. You're only just starting out & you really shouldn't judge yourself by their standards, it'll take time & practice to get that good & seeing as you're only 16 you have plenty of time to practice :) Before long you'll have people asking you how you did something instead of giving you advice on how they think you should improve it.
