Subject: Out of memory in Poser 5

Hi to all. I'm havin' a little trouble with my pzz's and pz3's files. I used to open'em with no problem, but since I shared my c: unit, every time I open it, an error message appears: the system is out of memory (Gee! I've 1Gb Ram). I tried to reinstall Poser 5 (copied my old Runtime folder to the new installation) but problem still persist. Anyone know how to solve it? Thanx in advance PS: Sorry for my english, It's not my native language.

Poser doesn't always tell you the truth. You often get the "out of memory" error message when Poser can't find a geometry file for an item. Poser will usually tell you it can't find the geometry file first, then it gives you the "out of memory" error message.

No, there's no advice about the geometry file; just that odd message. Thanks

uhmm, what do you mean share your c: unit? R U on lan with share set (read and write, or read only), what OS, how much harddisk free [make sure defragged], if on lan are you trying to access P5 from another system via remote control or just mapped drive?

LAN, sharing as RW in XP. About 60 Gb free HD. Only mapped drive, accesing P5 from the own PC where it's installed. Thanks.

R U logged on as user or share anyone? (ie: rite click on drive in windows explorer - left click on sharing and security) I have my folder set w/share on network and allow network users to change files. When i first setup sharing I was logged as admin as I was setting up remote control - when I logged onto my computer later - my name didn't have access (trying to protect important stuff from bad hubby user on lan ;0) to do anything but read... I just changed any user can change files on Poser5 folder and subdirectories (keep most my runtimes on a whole other drive) and weird errors ended.

Also, dont forget the updates if you havent done that yet.

I always log as admin, and drive is set to allow RW to everyone ... but I'll check it as soon as I can. Thanks
