Hello today I checked german ebay (ebay.de) and found some people selling there own props and characters for Poser. I wonder if this is allowed. As far as I remember it's only legal to sell your onwn software when "is it avalible in shops too." Am I right or wrong or did the rules change ? This auction was not deleted and he sold some of his things (very good looking) already. Maybe some people can share their experiences with me. thnaks a lot -Holli

Hallo Thomas as far as I know : 1.) it is not allowed to sell CD-R on ebay well, ok maybe he has pressed CDs but he selles cheap so I think not. 2.) he also sells the item as "download". not allowed too. But maybe I am all wrong and missed big market all the time If you have different experiences please write me. (ich spreche auch deutsch)

Anything that someone creates that is not the modified product of someone else's mesh can be sold however and wherever the creator wishes. If the seller has created the products him/herself and you like them feel free to purchase them.

Oh... I see your question (I think). You mean is this type of sale legal on ebay? You'd have to check with ebay but the actual products would be legal. Ebay may have their own rules but I don't know why. Many sellers auction e-books and cdr's all the time. As long as they are selling their own work I can't imagine what the problem would be.

Be careful buying any of the poser stuff on Ebay. Some may be reputable creators, however there have been several ebay auctions selling poser warez'd content. If you create a model you can sell it where ever. If you buy a model, you can not resell that and turn the rights over to the purchaser, least most of the sites and content readme.txt and EULA stipulate that.

I saw the CDs at ebay too. He offers models which I recognize. He has posted some of them (good ones btw) already here in free stuff. Why should he not sell his creations at ebay? He could also sell them here in MP.

I've purchased 2 of PhilC's CDs on eBay for what were outrageously cheap prices because most people out there don't know the quality of his models. I wanted 4 items from the Compilation Set enough to seriously consider their separate purchase, so when I saw the auction I knew what my upper bid would be and set my limit accordingly. I did check with Phil beforehand and he was the seller and it was part of his campaign for more exposure outside of this community. Having those models in somebody else's hands might have done him more good long term... but I wanted those figures. :embarrassed grin: Since a buyer has a week in most auctions, that is plenty of time to contact the seller to determine if he has made and owns copyright to what he is offering. If you are an artist who has made something, you certainly can sell copies of it, and CDs are a great way to get your work into someone's eager hands. I know a couple of artists who have sold prints of their work through eBay, too. There is no requirement that you also sell through a store or gallery, only that you own what you are selling. Carolly
