Well said tjohn, I love my Bryce 5 and I still have loads to explore in it so mine won't be going anywhere either. Bryce is too much of an amasing program to be dropped into the abyss and I'm sure that someone will pick it up, (my fingers, toes and eyes are crossed for this one). As for ranting, your sentiments are held by many of us here so rant away, we're behind you all the way. Power to the people....................Brycers. 8) Catlin
It's no rant, TJohn, but exactly what I think, and thank you for putting this out. As for your issues: 1. Right. I remember Robert Bloch. Once an interviewer asked him: "Mr Bloch, don't you think Hollywood somewhat ruined your books?" He turned around, looked at the shelves of his study and answered: "Don't think so. They're still up there." 2. Haven't seen the new box yet, but I really think you have a point here. 3. Exactly. 4. Forum, Forum, Forum :) 5. Exactly. 6. Exactly. I'm saving money to buy Cinema4D in the future, I admit it. But, hey, it costs like an used car, for me 3D it's an hobby and, gosh, the gurus out there consider it a "middle-end" app... Thanx for posting this, TJohn. Let's chug out Bryce images to please each other and ourselves, this is the thing that really counts. S.
At last someone said it, now lets all get on and stop all the doom and gloom! ;)

When I was evaluating softwares, back when I had the cash, I bought just about every major package to the tune of $5,000, give or take a $1000 or so...the only ones I'm keeping are Bryce, first and foremost, Vue, cause I started with it and like it too, Paint Shop Pro, cause you need paint capabilities, and Amapi and Carrara, for modeling at present....out the door went Maya, Lightwave, Cinema4D, and others...I kept the ones I did because I'm an artist, and I wanted to create in 3D, not spend the rest of my life learning a software, so Bryce will always be on all my computers, g*d, I'm still dicovering things it can do, and I swear the more I use it, Bryce reads my mind as to what I want to do, it's spooky really...and tjohn, you got it straight on the nose...;]

{Amapi and Carrara, for modeling at present....out the door went Maya, Lightwave, Cinema4D,} That amazes me, I find Amapi one of the daftest and illogical interfaces I have ever seen! - never liked Carrara much either, but Cinema, in contrast is laid out so simply and clearly, and I found the transition for Bryce to C4D the least painful!.. different strokes for different folks I guess! :)

Hello everybody :o) I couldn't afford to buy both Vue and Bryce, so made a painful decision and bought Vue....but always had regrets about Bryce. But with this low price, I just ordered my copy of Bryce 5 and I am very excited :o) So, for me Bryce isn't dying, it's just beginning :o) Can't wait to join this forum for help and suggestions :o) Elaine
I must also place my agreement with your comments TJohn. Of course there are limitations with Bryce that other software don't have... BUT Bryce is quite an amazing peice of software and can do 80% or more of what the $10,000.00 software club can do. That alone is impressive. I like Bryce... I choose to use it and I don't see it dying. Not at all...
Oh, man. I read that as "mouths", didn't even notice. Thanks for the giggle!

It seems like every day we get at least 2 new postings about how Bryce is dead or dying. Usually from some very nice Bryce users who don't get to the Forum very often and may be unaware that the Forum regulars are very well informed on this issue. Let's look at the facts, shall we? 1. I still have my copy of Bryce 5. I can still install it on any computer I own, into the future at least as long as Windows doesn't change the OS too much. It still works great, and there are many aspects of the program I have yet to master. So MY Bryce isn't going anywhere, it isn't going to die. 2. Corel just designed a new box for Bryce, so they do plan to sell more copies, for now. This move is more expensive than you might think. 3. If Corel does eventually kill Bryce as one of their products, the most likely thing is that they will sell it to someone else. So it will "probably" survive in some form in the marketplace. 4. I don't worry about Corel not developing Bryce further, because I haven't been overjoyed with their handling of the program so far. I have never used Corel's customer service anyway, so I don't care if they own the program or not. If I have any technical questions about Bryce, I'll ask them here in the Forum, where when it comes to Bryce, people know their a$$es from their elbows. 5. Bryce will only die if people stop using it. 6. People will only stop using it, if something better and affordable comes along to replace it. I haven't seen that product, yet. And I can't afford a program that costs more than my computer and all my peripherals combined, anyway. So, to reiterate: Bryce isn't dead, it's the same Bryce everybody loved when they thought there would be a Bryce 6. So chill out and do some Brycing. Prove to yourself that the program will remain useful. The only limits to what Bryce can do are in your head(literally and figuratively). Thanks for reading my rant. Tjohn
