After reading at www.macentral.com that Corel is ending developement for Bryce for the mac...I was wondering about people using Poser and Vue D'Espirit... How different is it? what is the light quality like? I gather it imports a lot better.

I have Mac and Vue, Poser and Bryce. I love Bryce, but I can't imported the pz3 files. In vue is possible. I'm sorry very much.

If you have a Macintosh with only one HD Vue my work for Poser imports. I've own Vue since the very 1st version, (Pre purchase at MacWorld S.F.) Vue has never been stable enough for me to finish one picture. As for the Poser importing I've only have one version the could import Poser file successful that was ver 4.11. It required that you copy all the texture file into the same folder in the Vue folder. Each version upgrade break the Poser importing system for Poser. Causing you to delete the entire Vue folder and reinstall from the CD then run the Complete updater, not the partial updater. Ver 4.12 can't understand importing if you don't have Poser and Vue on the same drive as the system. Which is beyond me that e-on software can't write (or is to lazy to write) software that understand the Macintosh filing system. As of this date prior to logging on to Osity. I delete Vue from my HD. I've wasted two years and many updates waiting for this software to work. My suggestion is to go to e-on software and look in the knowledge base answers. Read for yourself if this is the kind of tech support you want! As for Corel, they're just stupid (Stupidity = Having intelligent but refusing to use it!) They will compete against PhotoShop with CorelDRAW Graphics Suite, a no win situation! But dropped Word Perfect when 70,000 Macintosh users signed a petition. Bryce started on the Mac platform and Win didn't come in till ver 3. So I guess all those Mac user from ver 1-4 disappeared! Stupid is what Stupid does!

Why shouldn't speech be free? Very little of it is worth anything.

Vue works okay here... but err, I run it under Linux/Win4Lin. :) (now if anyone form e-on is listening, a native Linux version of Vue would be REAL NICE! (hint hint)...) /P

I have Vue 4/Mover 4 on an older G3 Mac and have never had any problems, other than that the G3 is kind of slow for any 3D work. I do a lot of my work on a PC though. Any time I had a problem, I just made sure I had the latest patch for Vue 4. That cured most problems. Also, I kept updating Mac OS X because early versions had big problems with OpenGL. Poser 4 is OS 9. I never find software that talks between OS X and OS 9. Only e-on did this I think. Best thing to do is get the demo and try it. Maybe OneShot has a cursed computer. I havent had problems. chikako

Best regards,

Having read all this, I'm still slightly confused...I've had Vue on my iMac for a year now, but learning Poser has basically eaten my life :) Now I think I'm finally ready to tackle it but not if I can't use Poser people in it....Is that what is being said above? BTW, I have the Jaguar version of OSX and Poser4 with updates.

The decision only underlines why Corel are always and will always be a second league, wannabee company and I say that as a PC user.
