Subject: Daz Spywear - body handles are showing up in Sketch Render; is there a fix?

I really hope there's a fix for this. I want to do a series of images in sketch mode, and here's the problem. The Body Handles that are part of the Spywear Clothing are showing up in the sketch render, and they are turned OFF. They do not appear in a normal render. The body handles are circled in red in the image on the left. Am I out of luck, is this even a known issue at all? Thanks!! --Donnie

Select each body handle, go to the Properties panel, and uncheck the Visible option. Or turn off their visibility from the Hierarchy Window. That's a great sketch render, by the way.

(slaps self in head) for some reason I didn't think of them as "that kind of object". I dunno, figured they were something like magnets and that option wouldn't be available. Thanks LD!! Here's a lo-res of the "fix"

Just remember, transparency won't work in the sketch renderer, any more than it will in the Cartoon display modes. :)

Silver, please -- WHAT ARE THOSE SKETCH SETTINGS?

Little_Dragon ( ) posted Sun, 01 June 2003 at 9:26 AM

silver, if it makes you feel any better, the body handles on one of Anton's hairstyles got me this morning. Only after I finished rendering an 180-frame animation did I notice that the otherwise-invisible handles were casting shadows on the ground plane. Luckily, I was able to paint them out in post.

Heh, heh, yeah, annoying little buggers, ain't they? Though I can see the benefits of them. Thanks Spit & Emily! These were fun! :) I hope to post the finals in the Gallery sometime this week. wadams9 - the sketch preset is one I modified from the color pencil preset in Poser 5. What you do is increase the Density slider on the Objects section, and there are a few others I changed, I can't remember exactly. I'll have to look at it.

Here's an old one I did waaaay back years ago, before there even WAS a Sketch Designer. Inspired by Nagel's style (he did some of the Duran Duran album covers, among other things). I'm still trying to find the Tutorial I did in the archives, so I can post it on my web site. It's in Poser 3. Now, here's the strange part. It's only a screen shot, in Cartoon Display mode. I open the same exact file in Poser 4 or 5, and I can't get the look quite like this. (shrug) Sure, I can get close, but not quite as sharp. Didn't tweak anything other than the lighting and skin color.

Silver I remember seeing that pic before. And yes it remidns me of Duran Duran's Rio. And it looks great so I hope you find the tutorial :o)
