I'm trying to create a stick figure Poser figure for a video project i'm doing. I modeled it, created the hierarchy file using the poser default body part names (lshldr rshldr etc.) , and created it in the Poser character library. I'm having a major problem with it though. If i try to bend it's forearm, the forearm gets all deformed and bent and the hand disconnects. this also happens when i try to bend the lower leg. I also can't use it in the walk designer. what's wrong? Here's a link to a picture of what happens: http://users2.50megs.com/vipp/stick.html

Seems it would be easier to take a standard Poser figure and substitute very skinny cylinder prop for each body element from within Poser one by one, then you are using the standard hiarchy as a matter of course, when I have done this the figures move just fine.

There is a stick figure in the Poser 4 Figure Library for both a male and a female stick figure. Have you tried them out? The hips are a little funny though. There is a space between the tops of the legs but they work with the walk designer.

Hello, You have done well to get this far and have a new poser figure. The next step is to adjust the Joint Parameters one by one. Turn off all IK then do the "Centers" first. Set the center JP on each joint. Then you can do the Bend JP's. After you adjust a JP you have to save the figure to the libraries icons using the little "+" sign. But fix this not walking thing first. As far as working in the walk designer....the walk designer is based on the Poser "Stick Mans" joint names. Your figure' part names must match exactly. The case of your names must match exactly also. example: you said lshldr, rshldr ...the Poser standard is lShldr, rShldr upper case on the "S". The correct phi names for the legs are... hip lThigh lShin lFoot lToe You must have these upper case first letters in the PHI. You need to delete the RuntimeGeometriesYour model whatever.RSR Fix the names in the PHI and also in your obj groups names. Then convert Hier file and then it should walk. But still will have to edit JP's. Serpent
