Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 15 2:13 am)
would be worse if you were studying body textures....lol
Handle every stressful situation like a dog.
If you can't eat it or play with it,
just pee on it and walk away. :-)

if people would manage their stupidity......

Weird what Poser leads you into. I find myself studying people's hair all the time nowadays - the way the light hits it, the way it shines (or fails to). I get urges to ask people with interesting faces if I can take photos of them - and I also look through catalogues of clothes - not to buy, just to see where wrinkles occur! The husband was a little alarmed to find me studying his eyeballs the other day - not staring into them lovingly - just looking at the veins! He wants me to do pics of fetishistic-looking females, just for him, but whenever I set out to do one, it magically transmutes into something else! Guess fetish ain't my style. Ah well. He'll live.
It's good that getting involved in Poser (or for that matter any visual arts at all) increases our awareness of how things look, and how to simulate those items, be they the play of light on human hair or the way a latex bra reflects in a dungeon. :-) Whenever I go to the theater or opera now, I study the lights and sets. Eowyn, think of it as revenge, not an embarassment. :-)
I just come back from a rehersal with our music band. (klezmer music if anyone's interested). The lead violin is a girl turning 20 (and I'm 38...). She had strange pants : in the place where the zip usually is (in the front, you know...) there was some little rope lacing, something like a corset or shoes laces. I looked attentively at it to memorise how it looked. Even when we played. At one point in the music, she has to look at me to "get the start" on some musical phrase. My eyes crossed hers and she looked very much like she knew very well where my eyes were the moment just before. Now, try to explain that you are thinking about Geometries when looking at a young girl's crotch, and with a clarinet in your mouth ! Bah... My wife is already convinced I'm a pervert. That's why she likes me : she says I'm the most perverted Teddy Bear she knows. Lol.
Klezmer is way over my style (unfortunately, at my age, most bands that'll have me just play 60's and 70's..hardly had to change my set list when I left the last band for this)..it sounds complicated as all get out..;) heck, try explaining anything with a clarinet in your mouth..;)
I wish I'd said that.. The Staircase Wit
anahl nathrak uth vas betude doth yel dyenvey..;)
And I thought it was just me! I've become more aware of, ahem, ladies fashion since getting back into Poser. So every so often I'll double take on a lady walking past just to try and memorise her outfit. Though I have taken to looking at sites like Maple Drive and Anne Summers for lingerie ideas and textures. My wife never really liked Poser, though she did try to get into it for a while. And I think she likes it even less now that I've taken to staring at everyone.

My wife now works evenings and I am left to look after our daughter (14 months old) When I have put her to bed (my daughter) I am spending a lot of time studying textures for use in poser. Of course this also means I spend time looking through catalogues at ladies underwear. I have already been in trouble for studying peoples eyes, and now I am looking at lingerie. I think at first she thought I might be buying her a gift but after several occasions of her coming home early morning to find me leafing through lingerie catalogues. I think she is starting think I am either seeing someone else who is getting the gifts or that I am perving out over the images. I have not started to look too closely when we are out shopping but it is very tempting just to walk up to some of the lingerie in the shops and study it close up. You know, it is true what they say about artists. They suffer for their art! Hey I just thought, I saw 1 piece of lingerie I really liked, I may buy it for my wife and get her to model it for me. That way I will have made her happy and I will have got myself a great study piece!
