what are nodes (dumb question right.) i see node all over the place in poser but im always thinkin... whats that?

In poser 5, nodes are the windows you can add in the material editor which create textures. See Chapter 34 of the Poser 5 Reference Manual.

thats the prob.... i accidentally threw my manual away with a bunch of other junk. didnt mean to, but sh*t happens...any more details to help me out?

There are some nice tutorials by Traveller on using nodes both at the Curious Labs site and RunDNA...I think if you saw how he uses them, you'd have a clearer view of what they do.
