Subject: Question about rain...

Hey guys (and gals) I'm making a scene, that has a lake in it, i want it to be raining in the scene. Now, i can make shoddy rain effects using the stuff that comes with bryce (the rain texture thingy helps a lot) however, i want to make little ripples in the water, for the rain drops... whats the best way to do this? Thanks for any help. duckie

There is a water preset called swirling water. You can change the scale of it by going into the material editor and clicking the green button above the picture. A scale of about 15% should be about right.

Select a water texture for your lake and then go into the materials editor, put a bead in channel B for bump height and load this pic. Another post will follow with the settings I used but these can be changed to suit your scene.

There is a really good tutorial on this somewhere too on the Web...I just can't remember the site...although I like croowe's method too. If/when I find that site I'll drop it in here for you to check out. MD
