Leave that to my dad, he is one those who build the real thing, he was then a crew-member of the sheerlegs crane "Taklift" (i am not sure if it was the 1 or the 4, i guess it was the 4, i will ask him when i see him this weekend) which placed the main parts of the wheel before it was raised into the vertical position. Maybe i will have a go at it. BTW: it was the third time he sailed under tower-bridge, and this time it was very close and narrow to get to that point in London.

You are so Lucky. I watched them build that thing, and have wanted to go up on it ever since, yet to manage it. Awesome view of Westminster, any chance of a copy?

Thanks for the welcomes,guys! I have more shots but they're on a regular camera and need to be developed. These include interior shots of the capsule as well as closeups of the frame and driving machinery. I understand that the design is actually based on a bicycle wheel. RobertJ: It must be really cool to have a dad who helped build this amazing feat of engineering! Tell him I think he did a great job! Choloe: I have a couple of views of Westminster. How would you like them sent? MuddyGrub: I think it's about 134metres tall. You can get the actual dimensions from the Eye's website. Well it wasn't as expensive as I'd feared. 11 per adult. We went up at 7.15pm when there were hardly any other visitors. The security was pretty un-obtrusive also. (You really have to look to see the anti-terrorist snipers and the radiation detectors)(Just kidding) One rotation takes about 30-35 minutes and they really look after you if you are disabled, even stopping the wheel if you need help to get on/off. And finally, You guys have plenty of time, it's just got a license to run for the next 20 years!
