THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Pre"June Challenge" Discussion & Info

RodsArt ( ) posted Sat, 07 June 2003 at 10:18 AM · edited Fri, 22 November 2024 at 6:33 AM

-First things first: My personal congratulations to my cohorts in the winners circle Woodhurst & Eyecon. Your creative ability is amazing. Thanks for your inspiration. -Next: Agentsmith will be out of town until the 10th and computerless, if you need anything contact clay. -Next: This month we will have a contest entry page for posting, although not until Agentsmith returns. If you would like to post your entry in the forum earlier that's fine and he will make sure it gets into the contest page, or you can wait till he's back. -5 Votes? Guess we'll have to wait till AS returns. -June Challenge: "Sound & Emotion" So many of my inspirations come when I'm listening to Music. Choose a song or music composition, Depict what it does for you. Maybe it evokes an emotional response, or a physical sensation. Happy- Sad- Excited- Angry- Enamored(inspired with Love)- Scared etc, etc. For example: "Born to be wild" could be riding a harley or K-rocket, Maybe a scene with people partying. "Tiny dancer" could be a child dancing or a music box with a ballerina. Jerry at Prizmbreak.com has some good examples. He has a whole section inspired by music. http://www.prizmbreak.com/imusic.html Let us know what song you chose and maybe a brief discription, Or put the title on the bottom left of the pic and let us figure it out. Render in Bryce(of course), Import what you will, Post work is fine but if ya can't tell it's Bryce, you went too far. Any questions, comments or ideas?

Well, thats a bit of luck. The Poser challenge for this month is Music/feelings but I would much rather render in Bryce so Ill swap my ideas over.

Excellent challenge entry, and for one that constantly listens to music while I work in Bryce...this is a very cool topic and I think I may get involved. Cool challenge ICM! I think everyone will have something cool to offer here because music affects us all in different ways, thus this challenge ICM puts forth will allow us to have a great variety of images! Good luck to everyone! MD

Hey ICM, have you been reading my mind? Okay, I was thinking of doing pictures based on poetry/story exerpt, but music is also an excellent choice. Lin

I think it's an awesome idea. already have my song picked out :)

catlin_mc ( ) posted Sat, 07 June 2003 at 12:00 PM

This is so strange, just this morning I was thinking of trying to make an image in Bryce that I did on canvas years ago, and yes it is based on a song. Maybe you can read minds ICM or perhaps everyone in this forum is just getting closer together. Great idea for a challenge. 8) Catlin

Mmm, every song I think of brings so complex images to my mind! I guess this one's gonna be tough. But that's the idea, right? :-) Great one, ICM!

AS Sambucus says it will be interesting to see the entries in the two different competitions. I have mostly finished my poser one, so now get to work out another one for bryce. Great fun.

Wonderful choice! I did many images in the past inspired by music, even the last one :) So to me it's just fine. No, better than that. I'm joyous! :) S.

I think this is a great idea, just one suggestion: I think everyone should incorporate text with the image, detailing what song, piece of music was the inspiration for the image, since the artist's name is the only text with the pic on the voting page. What do you all think?

This is not my "second childhood". I'm not finished with the first one yet.

And you would wait until after I had made and posted my "Welcome to the Machine", LOL! Oh well, that's my sense of timing (psychic, or merely psychotic?).
