Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 04 3:06 am)
Those are unused morph channels for add-on products. Poser saves the channels visible, even though you didn't do anything to make them visible. On V3's page over at DAZ, you can download a program called Dial Cleaner. You feed saved Poser files involving V3 into it, it gets rid of the unused extra morph channels. The link is towards the bottom of V3's description.
As a fairly new newbie to Poser I've been working with V3 for almost as long as she's been out and did download the dial cleaner from DAZ. I've never used the cleaner, haven't had any problems and don't understand channels etc. Could someone explain (at least a little)why a general user (not modeler) would want to use a "dial cleaner" with V3. Don't get it. :-( Thanks in advance
Sometimes Dial Cleaner does not work with P5 files. It was not written to work with P5. There is some petulance at play here. I think the way it works - save your character as a new CR2 Use DC on the file as it sits in the library folder. It just sets the "hidden 0" line to "hidden 1" and removes the formating that Poser adds to every morph channel when it saves a cr2 to the library. There are 30 open community morph channels and 30 add-on DAZ channels for every group but head which has 50 CC channels. Out of the box V3, they are really empty and are not visible. When a file is saved, Poser fills in its formating lines. One of these lines causes Poser to show the channel even if it is empty. You can use a special purpose JNTpose to hide channels while a file is open, but this is a dynamic function and it does not last if the file is saved.

I have a problem with the V3 model and Poser 5. To make it short: I load the Victoria 3 (with SR1.1 installed) model, and then I choose to inject all the body and head morphs into the model. Then, I save the model as a PZ3 file. When I load the model into an empty scene, I obtain many empty morph channels, all named "-". Where are all the right morph channels? Is there anything I don't understand? Thank you for the help!!! :-)
