Subject: Walking with Props

I have Victoria walking in the rain under the influence of a BVH motion file, but when attempting to Parent an Umbrella to her hand..... it just jumps around. The umbrella object was imported from 3dsMax and it is not acting as a Prop, but a figure. Even a Poser Prop, such as the Box, when parented to her hand.... really does not follow her hand when a BVH is applied to her body. What is going on here ??? Larry

Check to see if IK is on for the hands. If IK is on, turn it off and UN-attach the prop. Re-attach with IK off. Try your motion again.

Thanks. I went back a checked the settings and decided to make the attachment 'before" applying the BVH and the Parenting works much better. Thanks for the inspiration. Acutally it works either way now. What is confusing is........ there is a Figure> Set Figure Parent........and then there is Object>Change Parent. I may have gotten them mixed up. Oh well. Things appear to be working now. Thanks, Larry

Someone did a tutorial on the differences between parenting, conforming, etc. Go there and do a search. Easy to find. Yes, attach things before using IK or BVH.
