This is in Vue... I'm speechless...

All I can say is "wow"--those are amazing graphics.

Amazing is right...Thanks for the tip, Dave-So!

Actually he has a time machine, snuck back and took the pics ... it's all fake.

i almost ignored this post because whenever i checked out a post like this it always ends up being a bunch of over airbrushed vicky fantasy pics.this is definitely going on my favorite artists list.thanks for the headsup dave.

What a gifted person he is. In one of his images titled "stairs" he said 450 cubes were used to create it.....Wow,what attention to detail. Thanks for sharing this Dave-So. SWAMP

When I saw the first one..referenced on the Vue forum, I made the comment, jokingly, that it was a photo...these renders are photorealistic for sure... Some long render times as well :) Just great great work..

As in more than 2.6 minutes? If so you just lost 65% of the Poser users... they want their naked Vics with sword in hand rendered in 2 minutes or less. sorry about that, just go to show what skill, time and software can do. Great Pics.

Dave-So ( ) posted Thu, 12 June 2003 at 10:49 PM

That's me for sure :) I get pretty impatient if I can't get an image out in less than an hour...and my work reflects that... After looking at this work, I have to commit myself to much more practice and also to pay attention to detail...and a lot of it.

Beautiful work! Now that I have my new computer I'll be able to use VUE much more. I love the images you can create with it and now I'll be able to bring in my figures without my computer moaning and groaning. LOL. On another note, are there any problems between XP and Poser? I seem to be crashing while working in Poser and it's making me crazy trying to figure out the problem!

I have XP...no problems..haven't heard of many crashes with XP and Poser...are you talking total crash and burn. lockups, or what ??? which Poser version do you have? All patches applied?

That roof garden Image...ye gods, 44,000 objects. And he reckons it is not finished. Wow. Thanks for pointing out this artist, definately one to add to the favourites.

@FlyByNight : Have you installed the poser "large memory" patch? It's not officially called like that but you need it if you have more than 1Gb memory (RAM + SWAP combined).

c1rcle ( ) posted Fri, 13 June 2003 at 3:33 AM

It's interesting to compare the first posted render to the latest. Just shows what 2 years of dedication & hard work can accomplish, looking at that work I'm ashamed to even have a gallery now.

Axe_Gaijin ( ) posted Fri, 13 June 2003 at 3:59 AM

Wow thanks for that link, those pics remind me of paintings or photographs. A great amount of detail in them. Cheers, Axe.

Dave and stper I've installed all updates and the memory patch. Last error report said something about java so I've removed that and hopefully that was the problem. I'm using Poser 4. Computer wouldn't freeze up or anything like that, my screen would go black and then it would restart itself and give me the error report. I was surprised XP didn't use java, which I needed to play my jigsaw puzzles. But I can give up that addiction for a working Poser. ;o)

ROFL...I just finished an image done in Poser and Bryce...the Poser render took about a minute and a half, the Bryce render rendered all night and topped out at a 9 hour render time LOL :D You just gotta know how to time it. :D FWIW, Vue is a tad faster than Bryce and background renders better :D

Some of my Bryce pictures render in a couple of minutes only. It all depends on the settings.

LOL, yes. The scene had a lot of rough stone. Also it's for print so it was rendered at the largest size setting, regular antialiasing (i tried super fine and it rendered for 2 1/2 days without finishing) I've posted a link to it, take a look if you like. The castle gate is what was rendered in bryce, the figure in photoshop and the landscape beyond the gate and the hair are postwork in Photoshop :)

Patricia ( ) posted Fri, 13 June 2003 at 11:15 AM

That is absolutely AMAZING work!!! Blew my socks off...and now I'm asking myself once again, why the heck haven't I taken the time to learn Vue? (Of course, it might just be because Poser ate the last year+ of my life, and now I'm dealing with all the fall-out from that, and I'm a little hesitant to dive back into any piece of software ;)

ChuckEvans ( ) posted Fri, 13 June 2003 at 11:51 PM

If you hung around the Vue forum more often, you'd know his name is synonomous with "VUE". Usually, no postwork and most everything you see is done with Vue materials/objects. You'd think he and Gebe were twins.
