I listened to an interview last week on NPR(national public radio) with Jimmy, he was asked where the meaning of Stairway derived from. He stumbled around it a little and said all things that turn out good/positive. Was a great interview.

Probably got it the same place as Kasmir, sitting in a desert stoned. I think Plant was a fan of Tolkien too. They did a song about the LOTRs books. "And Golum the evil one crept up and slipped away with her". Love their songs. Ang

Some volumetric light streaming down the stairs could be interesting, but I'm not too sure what the cost in frustration would be.

Ang25: Robert Plant really does have a place a few miles down the road from where I live in Wales. I actually met him in a TV/pc outlet right in my town...honest. Jimmy Page isn't too far away either...

Yeah, and Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, and Janis Joplin live in a trailer just down the road from me. (j/k!)

TJohn: I tell no lies! My neighbour gave me the heads-up when I moved here. His dad's house backs onto Robert Plant's estate here in Mid-Wales. He actually got me Robert's autograph and agency photo. I'll have to dig it out cos I put it somewhere for safe keeping.. Then last year my son was in this electrical store, he came out and said 'I think Robert Plant's in there...' So I jumped out of my car and sure enough Robert Plant was busy buying a VCR! And you wouldn't believe the way he was dressed...looked like he was going hiking! I shook his hand! I actually shook the hand of one of my heros! Told him I'd seen Zed Zep's last concert in Knebworth (UK)in'79. He remembered everything about it but couldn't recall me out of the 80,000 other guys that were watching too..LOL....

I believed you, Bryster, I was J/K. I had my own brush with greatness once. I was at a Cheech and Chong concert (at Tennessee Tech. University, my alma mater) in the early 70's, and stepped out in the hallway to get a Coke from the machine there. I saw 3 men enter the hall at the far end and as they walked toward me I noticed they were two burly guys and what looked like an orthodox rabbi between them. As they passed, it occurred to me that the fellow in the center was George Harrison, looking just like he did in the poster that came with the "All Things Must Pass" album (which I owned). I was (and am) a huge Beatles fan, and had always wondered what I would say to a Beatle if I ever met one. I found out that I would just stand in shock while he walked by. When I rejoined my friends at the concert and told them I saw George, they said, "Sure you did." Next day, though, the paper printed a story about how Cheech and Chong had thrown a big party at the Holiday Inn after the concert, and George Harrison was there, so my friends finally did believe me after all. Apparently George was a fan of comedy and played guitar on Cheech and Chong's "Basketball Jones" years later (he was close friends with Monty Python as well, and produced some of Python's films). Man, what a sad story, overall. :^)

Basketball Jones was brilliant! Now we see Don Cheech on the cop thing with the guy from Miami Vice....

I'm a much bigger Led Zep fan than Beatles, (I know Blasphamy). Also, Stairway to heaven is not my favorite song to listen to by Zepplin, I've got 5 -10 other songs of theirs that I prefer to hear first (probably Blasphamy again). But I do love Stairway to Heaven too! And Plant is my favorite guy from that group. Harrison wrote my favorite Beatle song - While my Guitar Gently Weeps.

Hey, I keep my brain in the box on my desk. You think I typed any of this from memory? I just looked it up;)

I only had to look up how to spell, Marin, I was putting it as Maran, lol. So part of my brain works (usually the trivial stuff side). I've never had any close encounters with famous people :( But I fear if I did I would either stand and stare with my mouth agape or I'd not even recognize them.

So if we should actually meet, Ang, I'll recognise you from your gaping expression?

LOL, More likely, I won't recognize you. I've done that sort of thing before with people I've actually known, but then forgotten them. Too much crap in my brain I guess. Its quite embarrasing. Or worse talking to them like they are this one person you think they are only to realize afterwards they were somebody else! eeek.

I get that...now people who know me introduce themselves...how sad is that? LOL Actually it's great...I get to meet new people I've known for years....bit like Altzhiemer's....who are you again?...why am I writing this?
