One of these days I think I'm gonna have to teach you all the benefits of character assasination on online forums with a specific concentration on how to drive clueless people mad.

WHITE! A great way to stop people from posting dark images! Now, i can delete most of my gallery...

Doublecrash ( ) posted Fri, 13 June 2003 at 10:14 AM

Rochr, please don't do it. The white bg sucks bigtime, I agree. But there's a bit of an upheaval goin' on, so maybe they will stick with black. Anything, Rudy, but DON'T DELETE anything you posted! :) Or, at least, give us an advice so we can download your images to our HDs... :) S.

You know, I think it is a bold leadership move to go completely against traditional convention and actually fix something that ain't broke. "Only 7% of the people" are effected by taking away the option to change color. Ah, so let's remove that option AND change colors too!!! It can't be that people like the current colors can it? Nahh... And, oh, let's revisit the right side nav bar idea again. Standard shmandard, the times they are a changin'. If we make people start out on the right then move all the way across the page to the left we may attract more Hebrew readers who read right to left anyway. Funny how on an art site the tech changes are good, drop down menus etc., but the artsy changes are poorly thought out. "Yes, but of the thousands of members who could comment only several hundred did so that means everyone else LOVE'S it, right?"

Rochr ( ) posted Fri, 13 June 2003 at 10:25 AM

Considering how many complaints theyve got already, it would be foolish to stick with white! I dont want to delete images, (not even older embarrassing pieces...), but if the option is to have small total black squares (dark images), for thumbs, well... Thats the main reason i changed my own webpage from white to black as well. White looks great, but it doesnt work well for a graphics page IMHO.

Claymore, well said. White background for an online art gallery? Damn, I wonder what they smoked when this idea came up... J.

RodsArt ( ) posted Fri, 13 June 2003 at 1:19 PM

They should have had the contest for a Tech-site logo, & color scheme from MSN. Oh well, be back in 2 years, maybe. LOL

No, you can't compare them. Just think about that Renderosity has over 1500 users online 24/7 - so they have to keep the pages slim and functional to handle this load. No place for kinky graphics and gimmicks. This is 100% ok for me. Just... white background is a little bit to much for me. ;-) J.

I've added my dislike of what they're planning but will they listen, probably not. It's a case of no referendum of the members, and you will do as we say. catlin

Perhaps one could sneak a javascript thingy into ones comment/message to view images with the "proper" black background, LOL. Whether or not such a thing would be condoned... Anyhow, considering how I go about getting my image thumbs to transition into the background... It's not gonna look good at all if they change it. I doubt I'm gonna be the only one to suffer from this. So much for creativity with my little clues to the bigger images. Next thing you know, they'll be changing the default fonts on us too. Oh well, I won't let stupid stuff like that keep me from hangin' with the cool people and enjoying the awesome artworks. So I'll be sticking around....
