Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 22 10:18 pm)
One thing I have noticed is the harddisk consumption by poser5 [which is huge] - would help if you can set your virtual mem (4096 min & max) to a different drive than the one you are using for p5 as p5 does harddisk swapping big time then your virtual mem swaps to harddisk at same time and kaboom - memory icon pops up by time on status bar! Also, I have yet to have the memory icon come up using ntsf disk formatting on xppro but old machine [xppro also] has fat32 disk and it pops up on anything halfway big and animated. Hope that helps somewhat.
Out if curiousity... did you load up a figure and have the infamous file not found? if so then the default complaint Poser uses is teh memory allocation error... which (oddly enough) has naught to do with memory... just a statement of Poser's confusion... XP if I remember correctly is based on NT algorythms.. in which case memory is dynamically allocated "on the fly"... verify that the obj the figure was trying to load is where it expects it... and capitals are important in the name. good luck
